Cherry picking what argument? The facts? You have to be trolling me.

I give up.

You quoted an arrest article from 2009 and a biased article claiming console hacking is illegal. That's cherry-picking because you're ignoring the fact that in practicality, no manufacturer has gone after a console hacker in very long time. You're the one ignoring facts here. After reading through this though, it seems that your pissed off about people questioning the validity of the OP's claim. Actually, I believe there's grounds for prosecution and/or lawsuit against Xecuter and SX OS due to the fact that it explicitly condones and promotes piracy. Again, Letterbomb. That big ass must look at piracy and licensing screen at the beginning of the hack is what keeps it up. If it in anyway seemed to promote piracy, they'd take it down quickly. Being based in China though, it'd take a considerable amount of international cooperation to bring him/her/them in front of a judge or jury. Do I think they should be charging for code thats explicitly used to steal other peoples code(games) then use a DRM system? Of course not. I think that this banwave was inevitable and Nintendo isn't playing nice this time around. But insisting that hacking a gaming console is illegal when hacking a phone is perfectly legal goes against common sense. Which one is more dangerous if abused? Courtrooms take into account these things when issuing a ruling, and if a lawyer is competent enough, they'll bring these points up. As far as opinions...... Thats all law is, a collection of opinions that have been chosen to be the norms of society and order. The opinion's that matter most in America are the ones belonging to the Supreme Court.

Wait so now if a company doesn't go after a hacker it's no longer Illegal? Your logic is farfectehd at best.

I quoted the DMCA stating IT IS ILLEGAL and the full DMCA docket for you to read......

Sorry that Nintendo isnt going after Wii hackers on a console that has been long since dead, that doesn't change the law friend.

I don't have to cherry pick anything. You started this with some bullshit modifaction of hardware law which is bogus and not applicable and ever sense you were proven wrong you have changed up to reframing the argument and strawman attacks. You are wrong get over it.

Also console makers havent went after hackers, heres one that just happened.

(Really not applicable to the situation this discussion started on, but niether has been 90% of the crap you been spewing)

I haven’t changed anything. It’s not illegal. If it was then Craigslist and Facebook wouldn’t be flooded with console hacking services, and Letterbomb would be down. I’m afraid the crap in this thread is coming from you and your delusional common sense.

Wow man your logic is something else.

Your right it's on Craigslist and Facebook so it must be legal, right along with hookers, drugs, Illegal weapons, and all the other Illegal things that are on Facebook and Craigslist.

Next you will tell me that Piracy is legal, here is a tip Jailbreaking a game console is under the exact same law as piracy. They are both "Violations of the DMCA" they are one and the same law. The law, The Digital Millennium Copyright Act, covers Jailbreaking, as well as Pirating Games, Movies, Music, ECT.

You are a funny one.

Lmao logic is something you seem to have trouble grasping. You argue that reverse engineering phone and vehicle software is perfectly fine but a game console is not. Piracy is so much more of a threat than compromised communications, transportation, and financial infrastructure.....

Since you haven’t gotten the point this far in, and you seem stubborn and childish, the last thing I’ll say is this since this thread has gotten ridiculously derailed thanks to your bullshit anti-TX crusade that’s hidden behind a bullshit claim that console hacking is illegal....

The precedence and interpretation of the law you’re quoting has been established for years now, which is why every example I’ve given you completely blows your claim out of the water. It’s not illegal. Now go have a drink and cool off before you have an aneurysm. “Friend”

Your right anyone can put anything up on the internet, you know who doesn't do that thiugh.

The US government.....

Dude, I am litteraly linking to the Government's official docket laws.

Do you have any idea how stupid you guys looking? Arguing with documented US law, this isn't an opinion subject it is a Documented US law! That I have linked to you multiple times, what is wrong with you people?

Are you seriously going to sit there and tell the US government they are wrong about their own laws? Get with reality, you have strayed so far from it that it's honestly sad.

1 more time,

"1201(a)(2). The Register also confirmed that the exemption for gamers should not extend to jailbreaking of console software because such jailbreaking is strongly associated with video game piracy."

https://copyright.gov/1201/2015/fedreg-publicinspectionFR.pdf

That is a US damn Document, made by the US goverment, stating plain and simple Jailbreaking Game Consoles is ILLEGAL!

That is not some opinion of yours, or mine, it's not some shady site on the internet it is a US government website, with a US government docket telling you IT IS ILLEGAL!

You want to refute it, then Link me 1 US Government Docket, that states that game consoles have an Exemption to the 1998 DMCA copyright laws that state "Jailbreaking" or modifying anyones copyrighted code with out express permission is Illegal.

Phones, cars, TVs, Tablets ECT are Now LEGAL they were exempted in 2015, on the very docket I Linked. Game Consoles were not, and have never been. Thus any modifying of a Game Console is a straight up Violation of US Digital Millennium Copyright Act, which is a law, which makes that action illegal.

And flaming on others? I stated pure and simple FACTS that I have backed up with US government laws and dockets. You are speaking opinion and attacking me in the process. I am going to defend myself from that, especially when the FACTS clearly show that I am 100% correct.

You may not like the facts, but facts they still are. There is no room for your opinions in US law, the law is what it is.

Yep you got it, gamesquest1

Ill do you one better, I think its time I step out. I simply cannot deal with this level of retardation I experience on this site lately. People can not even use proper reading skills. The Bias and Opinions are too strong here showing the maturity level of the forum as a whole is extremely low, not some place I even want my username associated with.

This is a formal request for account deletion, Please and Thank you. Or does site also not recognize the GPDR either.

try asking Nintendo, all you will get here is speculation, long story short, if you use hacks you might be banned
