That's the part I don't get. Why buy a game after you beat/completed it?

I used to do that on PC games when I was a student. Like, the new Bioshock was waaayyyy to expensive for me but the hype was too strong to handle.
Buying a game again for a playtrough on a higher difficulty is worth it imho.
Plus : achievements. I know a lot of people find them useless but I like to have a showcase of my best gaming achievements.

I'm 100% sure there would be -at least a bit- less pirates if Nintendo added achievements/trophies to their online services.

Because I can? Just because I got disposable income doesn't mean I'm gonna pay for overpriced game ports I already bought on the Wii U.

I rarely if ever play a pirated game to completion, I know part way in if it's something worth actually playing.

Also I never feel any investment to a pirated game, so most I play for an hour or two then never touch. When you buy something it has value, you play it and invest into it because you want to justify the purchase and you enjoy it more when you have worked to buy it in the first place. Weird I know, probably just me, but without that box on my shelf I never feel invested enough into a game to stick with it.

Piracy for me is just a way to mess about with games I never would have otherwise, sometimes it leads to a purchase but most of the time they are just played and deleted shortly after.

I don't use one yet, but I use it to play games that I otherwise would not buy. There are two or three games that I would (and maybe still will) purchase such as SMO and smash bros... but nothing else is really worth the purchase to me.

Rom hack/translations is the main reason for me. I buy the games I am actually interested in (mainly RPGs) but I will use it to "test" some other games that I am unsure about.
However, I am hoping the game editing scene will pick up and translate the odd game or two (or even unfuck previous translations) and that is the driving force behind my reasoning.
I missed the Vita boat due to my firmware but I plan on riding out the Switch scene for all its worth.

I do what I want to do when I want it.

I'm not going to make this sound like I'm a good guy in an evil world. I pirate software. I make no excuses. If it's free, them it's for me!

So ya, you don't like what I do, then FU!

As dumb as it sounds, I use backup loaders solely to play carts that I own. Carrying around a bunch of switch carts is a bit of a hassle.

I respect that!
It's always bugged me to know: can we consider an emulator a backup loader? If so do you also play only your own games on it?
