I don't dislike the guy and I don't mind him being a fighter, but ,tbh, you can say the same for Waluigi.
Anyway, at least a few people been asking for Birdo for Smash for a while and now that we have Echo Fighters, that's just going to increase. An Echo for Yoshi.
Some people say he is too tall, but, if they really wanted to make him a Echo Fighter, they would. Same goes for making him a regular fighter, if they wanted to, they would. His moveset could probably be base off just the Mario Tennis games alone.
I can see Rex with Pyra/Mithra being in there. His smash attack will be something like Pneuma's chain attack.
Waluigi ain't happening since he's already an assist trophy
Sonic has been running solo for a long time so he might get some company in SSBU like Shadow or Tails if they aren't trophies

waluigi is way more significant than birdo
waluig along with wario were the main villains of mario tennis on n64
also waluigi appeared in
every mario tennis game
every mario party since mario party 3
every mario golf since Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour.
every mario kart since double dash
mario dance games
mario sports games like sportmix,baseball,stricker, and hop 3on3
been an assiste since ssbb
mario and sonic series
waluigi appeares in way more games than birdo and he is actualy the main antagonist of some sports games with wario, birdo is like a miniboss or random character that has no impact on the games it appears tbh.
while birdo appeares in some games it skipped several kart games,golf and most party games while waluigi is there since it was created on every entry even the arcade mario karts.

Never said he wasn't, yet he is still under other Mario characters when it comes to significance.
Couldn't care less about Waluigi, but I feel like Banjo & Kazooie deserve a spot in that roster.

Definitely Goku. Waluigi has never been in a mainline Mario game so he doesn't deserve a spot in the roster.
We don't need another Captain Falcon clone and Tails wouldn't work as a Sonic Echo fighter because Tails can't do a homing attack and most of Sonic's moves were taken from Sonic Battle.
