TheFloW shows off his new upcoming Vita 3.65-3.68 hack, called h-encore

On July 1, renown PlayStation Vita hacker TheFloW will be releasing his latest work, a kernel exploit for Vita systems on OFW 3.65 and higher. Prior to its launch next month, though, he uploaded a teaser video, which shows his new hack installing VitaShell. This is the second major exploit for the system, the first of which was Henkaku for OFW 3.60. The video states that the jailbreak is called h-encore, the short for hacks/homebrew encore.

supports the newest firmwares 3.65, 3.67 and 3.68. It allows you to make kernel- and user-modifications, change clock speed, install plugins, run homebrews and much more.

tbh, I wish he would delay the hack after the vitas EOL. Any games that might come out in the future will probably require a new, patched firmware version :(
He has a backup exploit, which is exactly why he's releasing this one, afaik. The other one will be when Vita is EOF and safe to crack wide open again.

how do you like that, sony?
Probably a lot more than they would want to admit, since it's free advertising and free added features (they don't have to be responsible for) for a product they deemed mostly unsellable in its current condition

lol, hen + encore = h-encore :D
wait, does that mean it's the final hack?
No, rather than it's the second one (of non-upgrade henkaku ports)

the name still makes me think its hentai program.

have not used my psvita in months is there a permanent hack 3.60 or do you still have to go to the website to load it

Short answer, yes. It's called "Enso".

aye there is a permanent hack for 3.60 called "Enso".
You can also use 3.60 henkaku to update to 3.65 Enso.
And as I've read it, you will soon be able to use 3.60/3.65 Henkaku Enso to update to 3.68 henkaku Enso
I believe the other firmwares are tethered hacks.

as far as I am aware, enso will only be available up to 3.65 as the exploit for enso has been fixed in 3.67/68

3.67/3.68 will be tethered only.

oh it sounded like it was similar to the 3.65 hack where you could still use Enso by upgrading using fl0ws patched firmware upgrader (provided you were already on 3.60 and had access to henkaku).
I could be wrong though.

  • You should update to firmware 3.65 because TheFlow’s upcoming hack won’t support firmware 3.61 and 3.63. However, you shouldn’t update to firmware 3.67/3.68 because they won’t be getting untethered HENkaku (HENkaku Ensō) so you’ll have to reapply HENkaku/taiHEN every time you reboot!
