Since there is a lot going on about Nintendo being able to ban you for doing illegal things in cfw. Wouldn't having 2 emunands be the only option to avoid getting banned and still be able to ever go online?
What I mean is:
- keep your ofw on < 4.1 to be able to use the warmboot when it is due. Obviously you cannot go online with it since it isn't the latest firmware.
- keep 1 emunand free of doing illegal stuff so you can go online with it and update it when a new firmware comes out.
- keep 1 emunand for doing illegal stuff and keep it offline.

When a new firmware comes out, just copy the updated emunand over the one for doing illegal stuff so you have that one updated aswell, but not connecting to Nintendo servers ever and thus not risking a ban.

That's not how this works, that's not how any of this works

I know it is not how this works now, but isn't doing it any other way making sure you will get banned?

Well if you revert to a sysnand image where you haven't done anything which is illegal in the eyes of nintendo, why would they ban you when you go online?
When you do something illegal, than you just revert back to the sysnand image.
A reason not to do this is because putting sysnand back from image is time consuming and doing it on low firmware makes no sense since you cannot get online with it. Therefor emunand would come into place.

You can't restore sysnand to delete bans, once you are baned on a nand, you are baned on all nands, but indeed you can avoid being banned by doing the hacky stuff on a always offline emunand and keeping other nands clean and hack free for online. you would not be baned because there is no reason to be baned, you isolated the hacky stuff from the internet and from the part of the system that connects to the internet

Once you're flagged/banned you can be unflagged/unbanned. Nothing you can do. No amount of emunands or nand restoring can fix it

That is not what I am talking about. I mean how to prevent ever getting flagged.

I do not know what this means, so I guess I should :)

Do not confuse him, he is semi-right, you can use a always offline emunand to isolate hacky stuff from being detected by nintendo (as long as it remain always offline and the other nands are clean and pristine whitout hacks) and indeed that avoid being baned(Nintendo can't ban you if nintendo does not know that you should be banned), altrought once you are baned you are banned no matter restoration, emunand, or anything, console baned, and account banned, only option to unban is to hire ninjas and raid nintendo servers.

Can you people stop being fucking idiots? He's saying he wants an emunand to do the questionable shit there and one where he does the legit shit. No one is talking about unbanning anything. Jesus fucking hell can you at least read before you post?

Same for you. If you can in any way correlate that to OPs post, then you clearly have no idea either.

When you get banned, it's tied to the console, not the nand. So if you got console banned while using hacks on a emunand, your sysnand would also be banned. While I wish your method would work, it's not going to

The first part is what I meant all along. Keep ofw and 1 emunand clean and the emunand always online. Then make a backup from the clean and updated emunand and replace the hacky emunand so that one is updated aswell. If you run it the first time it will be updated and clean, so it wouldn't matter if you took a bit of time to shut down the internet connection on it and do hacky stuff again.

Though the only thing I wonder is if emunand would flag you anyways even if you did nothing wrong in that emunand.

Oh. My. Fucking. God.
Can you READ THE POST????? Nowhere is he talking about being unbanned or not being banned anywhere else.
He's just saying that it COULD be harder to detect that he's doing questionable shit in one of the NANDs, if he keeps his online activity to another.

I really should just get the fuck out of this forum for real, why am I rotting my brain cells here

OP you can do what you want by having 2 SD cards, and a different emunand on each one, also is more safe to have not only different nands for hacky stuff and nonhacky stuff, but different SD cards.

But we don't know if nintnedo can detect if you are on a emunand, if they can a emunand would never be clean enought to go online

You can't just make multiple emunands to avoid bans

Why not? Luma3DS supported multiple emunands. Why wouldn't we be able to on Switch as well?

Couldn't he keep one emunand strictly for legit purposes, and another for piracy/homebrew, that would be kept strictly offline?

I think the most difficult part would be getting the two emunands to use separate folders on the microSD card, the Switch won't let you "unlink" them the way you could with the 3DS, at least not without some modifications.

He's trying to circumvent bans by having multiple emunands, however once one is banned, they're all banned
