there is a lot of people with sx os, so what if there was like a website people could put all there certs on, thed be so many surely nintendo wouldnt be able to ban every single one, if they did that thed have a huge loss because alot of certs/carts would be useless.

if everyone was to get multiple cert dumps and there were 1000s on one website...
surely nintendo would not ban every single one by having loads of cert dumps... from 1000s of people thed be so many people using illegal cert dumps.. they wouldnt be able to keep up?

plus if they banned every single cert it would make alot of games useless? surely nintendo wouldnt do that
also thed be so many certs surely thed just give up trying to ban them.?

idk just an idea probs dont know what im talking about but worth a shot

Banning 1000 certificates isn't a big deal for Nintendo. However, why should anyone upload his game certificates on such a website? There is no benefit and only causes a risk of being banned.

they would just ban the certs that have more than 2 users. end of. no matter how many certs there is. its clear as day to them that all the certs with more than 2 people using it is a illegal dump.

They could just ban modded consoles instead.. Nah, I'd rather play my backups offline with the ability to update them than get my console banned and play shitty 1.0 versions of what I don't own.

nope not really, because all the other users would have obtained it illegally so there is no bad rep on Nintendo part. they didn't pay for it. they wont just ignore it no matter how many there is.

if they did that though it means second hand games would hve to be checked..to see if certs were banned.

Outside of the problems that were already mentioned (and fairly obvious), there's also the fact that a lot of games can be bought digitally. So this is really fruitless and I feel sorry for anyone who would purposely contribute their header only for it to be banned.

You really think that this is how the world works? How companies think? He didn't ask what YOU would do.
But he's right. Nintendo makes zero dollars on all used games so they really have no responsibility towards how they are sold. The only people who regulate the sale of used games are those who participate in that type of market.

What ninty makes directly is one thing, what they lose indirectly is the bigger picture. Bad press isn't good for the company. ninty's investors are VERY fickle...bad press for Sony is much different than it is for ninty.

This is under the assumption that these headers of used games are being banned for no good reason. The truth is that they are being banned because hackers dumped them and used them to play backups. So unless you ignore the truth or twist the facts, this cannot turn into bad publicity for Nintendo.

You're completely ignoring the fact that when some unsuspecting 8 year old spends his $50 birthday money on a used game that he can't play online, shit is gonna go public. Expect to see parents PISSED OFF when this happens.

The mother can easily get pissed at several other parties that are Nintendo. She bought a used game so its up to the seller to verify that it was in proper working condition, not Nintendo. She bought a used game not from Nintendo so she should have checked it was working properly before leaving the store, not Nintendo.

Also, even if she ends up finding the game is not working 100%, I'm sure she can just return it to the store. There's no reason for her to get pissed unless the store has no return policy. Nintendo probably got more bad press from the reports of Switches melting and Joy-Cons de-syncing than something like this ever will and the Switch is still selling like hot cakes. I'm pretty sure you are blowing this out of proportion.
