> Support user cert in XCI

To play online your game (XCI) files need to have a unique certificate embedded. We now properly emulate these certificates, so dumps that have them embedded will be able to play online! Beware though, it is *not* advised to share a certificate with multiple people. Your best option is to make a backup of your own cartridges for the games that you want to play online. A way to do this currently is using WAIN v0.0.3, which can be found here: https://www.maxconsole.com/threads/release-wain-xci-switch-cartridge-dumper-v0-0-3.47167/
This is no surprise since LBL also allowed you to go online with a different certificate. People seem to be mixing up being banned with being able to play online. You only need a certificate to go online. You can be banned if they are not from the same game. Question is we don't know when the bans will happen or if at all, but we don't even know if its safe if the games still match.

Quick homebrew test with SX OS 1.1

VBA Next ran fine, pFBA and Snes9X ran slow. Also the home button wouldn't work unless I brought up the menu first with Snes9X

Is it stable tho? Still haven't even got mine yet (hurry up 3ds-flashcard, gosh you guys are slow as fuck...)
The backup loader itself is working wonderful. Homebrew ... another story with the TX payload. But ... give it time.
You did receive confirmation of it being in transit? Us EU people only got that today. So we are also still waiting for the SX Pro

So basically, anybody who used SX OS with cartridge dumps from games they LEGITIMATELY owned either got banned or will get banned (in a future banwave) because for whatever reason SX OS didn't support (or probably masked) user certs. Enjoy your bans early adopters.
They said online at your own risk with backups there was a warning and people didnt listen

I do have "hbmenu.nro" on my root. The menu does in fact show up. The problem is nothing populates it despite having a proper "switch" folder in root as well.

Yeah because everyone wants to walk around with a usb drive slapped to their switch
They don't have to because they have MicroSD support, but for those that are just playing games at home on their tv, usb support through the dock would be convenient.

Yeah, but in the FAQ stands, that play legit Games in OFW is safe
They never stated backups of your

Q: Can I backup my games with SX OS and create my own game ROMs?
A: Currently there's no easy way to backup games with SX OS. We will add support for this in an update.
Q: If I boot in OFW mode and play my original purchased game online, am I safe?
A: Yes, you are safe to play original games online in OFW mode.
Q: Does SX OS plays the original games in CFW mode?
A: Yes, it does.

Yes but they never intended to use backups created by the users online, now they implemented a way of doing that correctly, you can buy an eshop game and play online, you can buy a cartridge and hell you can play online, but a backup was a no no, now is not the case, well if you put your own cert

haha i can buy a new switch game and have my own for cheaper than that :)

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

someone should definitely share a certificate anyway

Would defeat the purpose of unique certificate.

everyone needs to get with the program and buy used nintendo switch games from gamestop, dump them with their respective certs via WAIN, and then return them to get your money woney honey back. I've been playing online since tuesday and no ban yet. lmao thanks gamestop

Right and i can't see nintendo really banning cart certs even if they detect the same cert connected online at the same time more than once because how can they prove who actually owns that cart, there not going to kill online play on used games.

Now BBB releases and other well known shared carts/certs online they have every right to ban.detecting a cert used on 100's/1000's of switches is obvious vs a few who may pick up the same used cart and dumping it.

theres a lot of people with sx os, so what if there was like a website people could put all there certs on, thed be so many surely nintendo wouldnt be able to ban every single one, if they did that thed have a huge loss because alot of certs/carts would be useless.
