But I have a question... What if I play Zelda breath of the wild(Cartridge) with a modified save? Will my console get banned EVEN IF THE GAME HAS NO MULTIPLAYER MODE?!?(Just asking)
:)
You still need an unauthorized method (homebrew) to inject the save. Hacking always comes with a risk and we can't say for sure yet what's safe and what's not.

So, how is this news exactly?

Back with the 3DS they where issuing ban over game cart IDs and such, why would they not do that for the Switch as well? It is a great way to help prevent piracy, it at least prevents people from using pirated games online.

We are hackers and as such need to find a way to circumvent those security measures set by Nintendo.
This does not make us stupid, quite the opposite.

You are modifying your switch
Who cares about getting banned
Only stupid people hack their switch and are afraid of getting banned...
It’s like making love without condoms and pray that the girl don’t become pregnant lmao

Can Nintendo ban if we inject a not banned cert into an xci file and play with it ?

Impossible as the game cert is unique to that game. You can't just mix and match game certs like we could on the 3DS and even if you got a game cert for the game in question - you might as well just play the legit copy the cert came from instead of injecting it into the ripped copy.

It should be possible for few/multiple consoles to have the same cart cert but not to some crazy amount or atleast not all being used online at the same time

I don't really understand this petty behavior most people feel the need to display.
As far as I know I am hacking my device albeit using other people's (great selfless people btw) mods/tutorials/homebrew and whatnot.
You seem to think we are born with this ability (hence it cannot be learnt) and that's what's really sad.
Man! This is a discussion (opinion sharing)....don't you guys get it?

are u a hacker, or do u just download files made by other people?

You don't have anywhere near the technical literacy to be considered a hacker.

You know...sorry to break it to you but I know how to use a dictionary.
I don't really see why you're trying to make this personal and stuff.
And since you know nothing about me, how about we move along with our usual affairs?
because claiming to be a hacker while u are just a skid, is cringe worthy at best.

So they've taken the "Ban the cartridge, not the user/console" Approach?

That..... seems like a fair compromise. Granted, its not fair to the people who are buying carts, dumping, then returning or trading them away. But certainly an odd approach to the piracy issue.

I don't think it's so much that they're banning carts, but that they're blocking carts with invalid headers, in the first place... but maybe that's just semantics.

Maybe those who are curious about all of this should ask nintendon directly, how they are going to deal with this situation in conjunction with rented or used games. Seems extremely unfair for someone who uses a completely stock Switch, to possibly buy or rent an online title that doesn't even work online.
