Short story: I rebuilt my PS4s database, now only officially installed games show up, no fake packages at all! The space on the HDD still appears to be used but I cannot see the titles. Is there any way to reverse this?

Long story: I backed up an older game today that I had a save file for, unfortunately I had not read about injecting keystones and when I went to play the game the saves became corrupted.

After reading a bit online I decided to delete the fake package, reinstall the disc and see if rebuilding the database would help. It helped restore my save but it rebuilt my dashboard to only show officially installed games. All fake packages are no longer listed! Is there anyway to fix this or will I have to reinstall each package again? I can see the HDD space is still being used so I don't think they were deleted just removed from the dashboard.

If you search previous posts I think was answered before, you know first or second wave (FW 4.05, FW 4.55).

FWIK you can restore it if you backed up a copy (search for stooged game-db game-saves backup payload/utility). About your case, i.e. rebuilding it, even if is probably an XML file (but don't quote me ^__^; ) I don't think someone posted instructions on how to do it...

Thanks. Managed to find the below thread which mentions rebuilding pkg files. I'll have a proper look this evening when I can mess around with the files.

Edit:

So for anyone in the same situation, you can FTP the games off your PS4's internal HDD and re-install them.

Just go to the user>apps folder and there will be a list of titles. You need to transfer the app.pkg files from the individual folders to a USB then re-install them as usual (using Hex debug menu). When you install a game the menu will tell you it's already installed, go ahead and reinstall and your game should reappear in the dashboard!
