If you don't use autorcm but another method to load a cfw (or hen), Nintendo could still detect it

I guess going online wont be a thing if u plan on using cfw at all right?
How will it work with games requiring a specific firmware? Will this not count on cfw ?

To OP, the thread you are referencing is referring to alternative exploits of loading the CFW, Atmosphere, as opposed to using the tethered coldboot that works universally on all firmwares for current Switch revisions. If you don't mind using a hardmod then plugging your Switch into a computer/Android device, then firmware doesn't affect you. But if you want to hold onto the hope of using a softmod to do what everyone else is doing, try to buy a Switch that is no higher than 4.1
