It will perform like HaxChi before you installed CBHC. Just dont delete or move it to USB or reconfigure it in any waywhat would happen if I open the app "DONT TOUCH ME" in the Wii U menu?
So Just turned on my system on after a about a year (had everything installed and working fine), and it goes from CBHC => WiiU Screen (logo in bottom right) => Black screen with "-5" in top left.
How screwed am I?
just press home button when seeing cbhc message and choose boot to sysmenu, you probably have it to bot to something on sd card that isnt there anymore.So Just turned on my system on after a about a year (had everything installed and working fine), and it goes from CBHC => WiiU Screen (logo in bottom right) => Black screen with "-5" in top left.

Looks like the card inside it had been touched at some point HBL was missing from app folder. Redownloaded it and all is wellPretty sure @pedro702 is correct:
From the haxchi source : haxchi/dsrom/hbl_loader/sd_loader/src/entry.c
a -5 indicates a failure on an open file command for read from SD. Nothing to worry about in terms of brick.
status = private_data->FSOpenFile(pClient, pCmd, filepath, "r", &iFd, -1);
if(status != 0) {
private_data->OSFatal("-5");
}
Nope just was missing HBL. Thanks for trying to help though =]he probably try to load mocha at boot, and doesn't have it anymore on the SD.
or it's in the wrong folder.
lot of users forget to put /apps/ in /wiiu/
/apps/ <-- wii homebrew
/wiiu/apps/ <-- wiiu homebrew

2.5u2 is Haxachi ,1.6 is cbhcWhat's the difference between 2.5u2 and 1.6?
i already installed cbhc,omg,i was about to install haxchi on cbhc on the same ds game and if i didn't wait for an answer i would have bricked my wii u!! thank you2.5u2 is Haxachi ,1.6 is cbhc
Haxachi you run every time you reboot
Cbhc is more permanent method
Don't install CBHC unless you have read about ALL of it first you can brick with cbhc
First try Haxachi and make sure it works. You MUST have a legit purchased eshop game for the either or you will BRICK your console and it will be unrecoverable.
Please read more about them.
It is safe to update to 5.5.2 if you have Haxchi or CBHC installed.I haven't really touched my Wii U for a good 8 months, and I see there's a new update for the Wii U. Is it safe to update even with CBHC installed?
Yes, boot into SysNAND. You may have deleted the update folder, you’ll have to remake it. If you still can’t update, you need to uninstall CBHC (but not Haxchi), and then install the system update without running Haxchi.Thx for your answer, but after trying it out I see that when using CBHC + Rednand, it automatically blocks updates from Nintendo. What can I do about it? Should I change the autoboot options in the start into something else?
EDIT: Btw I'm using Mocha for Rednand. I'm pretty sure I got it from wiiu.hacks.guide but I can't seem to find it there anymore. Has it been removed because of the risk of bricking?
