Did the drive cost alot like the one JellyPerson linked?I remember having a dvd drive which could do that, atleast to create a iso.
It doesn't "patch the disc", the discs are read only, so even if you could read it on a PC it would just be the regular MKWii.I want to try read the contents off of a wii disc on my pc so i can try emulating mkwii with the ctgpr and wiimmfi patch on my pc by using the wii to patch the disc with both of those things.
That money would take up half of the ram im saving forSure if you have one of these external drives

Oh ok, but CTGP-R channel is made to crash in dolphin so it wont work.It doesn't "patch the disc", the discs are read only, so even if you could read it on a PC it would just be the regular MKWii.
You can run HBC and homebrew in Dolphin however. Should be possible to run CTGP-R as well. You might need a NAND backup from an actual Wii for it to work. Most things do work without a NAND backup but there are some things that just can't be emulated.

oh ok thanksbut you can only make an image out of your disc. for an image you don't need to buy a drive. just make one on your wii with usb loader gx (propably there are more tools)
wait how do you make the iso on usb loader gxbut you can only make an image out of your disc. for an image you don't need to buy a drive. just make one on your wii with usb loader gx (propably there are more tools)
most DVD drives cannot because wii discs have encryption called 128 AES-CBC
