To get softmod, you need 1.0.0 (right now).
But then, why are there vendors out there buying "software only" licenses by the 500+ es. For all those 1.0.0 owners that don't exist in any significant numbers?

For those people that own three switches (which they now have to buy three different TX licenses for), but only want to own one dongle?

The shoe doesn't fit. ;)

Also hint at Nintendo - I wonder what a ddos on TX' license servers in the release week would do to them.. ;) (I don't condone that sort of behavior, but as a hypothetical.. ;) )

If the "use once to install OS" is true then it's not so terrible. Would offer a real advantage over the current implementation of Fusee. I've got to wonder why they would sell the OS separately, it's great for people that just want to use the dongle to launch other payloads (if this is possible, which the OS being sold separately would indicate) but if you're advertising a product with the main functionality being piracy then why do you think anyone would bother paying for a payload? Maybe they realise that they won't really be able to compete with Atmosphere so they just want to get their dongle sold as much as possible before there's software exploits found that are equivalent to the hardware exploit.

I assumed software only was just launching it from your PC/android. Which is more for people with a USB/jig already.

The opposite is true.

They dont want to make money on the dongle (which we actually all could kind of understand), they want to make money on their CFW (first DRMed CFW in existence.).

They are selling CFW lincenses only packages, not dongle only packages.

So now TX is in the app business? Wow, this company gets more impressive by the hour.. ;)

(Dongle solution is better than Smartphone with cable and app - its quicker. Less parts. People would pay for that. So thats also not likely to be the reason for "software only" licenses.)

I'm paying for that reason myself. Would pay for the CFW if it was more feature rich as well, even if just for the next few months. Open source vs Closed is pretty pointless from my perspective. I'm just looking for something that works now even if it gets replaced in the future.

Never ever buy a product, because it has "more features". I believe thats an old saying.. ;)

Reason: There is stuff called scheduled delayed productpipeline rollout - where features are patched in in stages, so customers buy revisions, and new product generations. At least half of the "features" the consumer is presented with are entirely made up and not that necessary.

(Dust and waterproof, skin store, boka in portrait mode, notch, new with no headphone jack, 2x optical "zoom" (wohoo?)...)

Whenever someone says "i bought it because of all the features"... I think of that.. ;) Know what you are buying a product for. Dont buy it for the "additional features".

Softmod = no hardware tinkering required
That information comes from a Google translated Chinese vendor. It very well could be a softmod, but up until TX confirms that I'm going to just assume you're paying to use their CFW with already available methods.

i don't think a lot of people will buy tropical freeze or hyrule warriors twice, and i f they pirated it probably wouldn't play it or finish the game half way. As for TX SX there was no proof of piracy, and especially for that price of $26, I doubt it'll do piracy. As far as I know they could've bought those games on the eshop and just switch back and forth. Nobody knows how good or sh*te their card really is

Team BBB stated in one of their latest releases that TX is booting their backups in that video.

Yeah dude, its great you can list bad features. In TXs case it's be ease of use/better CFW (For now). Up until Atmoshere gets piracy TXs will be better and more useable for what I want out of this.

Ok but how do you even install cfw like Astmosphere ? Do I need to mod my switch in anyway or just connect it to usb to my computer ? Cause I see the point of waiting for Atmosphere and Coldboot CFW if you can install if without any modding..
1. Get NAND dump.
2. Put everything you need on your SD.
3. Boot your Switch to rcm.
A. Via softmod - pegaswitch (for 1.0.0 only right now)
B. Via hardmod - pushing tablet home button = connecting pin 10 on right joy to ground (or pin 1 on switch side to ground?).
4. Connect your Switch to pc and "flash/inject" payload.
5. Boot to cfw (emunand).

And once coldboot is here, you will be able to simply reboot or boot to your cfw.

That's how Atmosphere will probably work.

I know - everyone just buys their producs for the good features. Those that stick around.

Never for trends, or prestige, or because they sounded nice.. ;)

I'm just saying, that in my mind - whenever someone says "I'm buying it for the features" (Look it comes with a calender app, that looks like leather!), I always immediately add an "- advertised" to the end of the statement.. ;)

This is where I still disagree with you. Features can range from anything to technical specs, to additions on software to make life easier, etc. I looked for and bought a 144hz monitor. I'd call the fast refresh rate a feature. I'd say my GPU having 8gbs of vram is a feature. So yeah, features influence my purchase, but it isn't all there is. I won't be using this for long if it's a pile of garbage but I have enough disposable income and a strong enough desire for piracy to shell out a bit of cash for this. As it stands though until Atmosphere has piracy this seems like a better option even if it ends up being a little shit.

“This product is not available now, and will be released around next month.”

Prepare your butts
Prepare your butts.

Commenting simply for the fact for some reason this really made me LOL!

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

I don't really get the deal.
People are saying stuff like "it's not worth 40 dollars" etc...
Is this possible without their hack or what is the deal? I mean who wouldn't pay 40 dollars to play whichever game they like after that?

The process showed in the video is that the way you have to boot the Switch every time or just first time? It doesn't feel to annoying to plug a usb thing and then start the switch...

Please someone explain all this to me I just see a lot of whining but Im not sure what people are whining about isnt this what "we all waited for" ?
Well said.
People here seem to like debating moral issues more than get hyped for modchips which I find kinda strange in a forum such as this.
Maybe that's cos I'm an old fart from the Doctor V64 Bung Enterprises days...
