Im unsure about what I should do.
I tried following Mizumis youtube guide, but when I get the first screen in Hekate, and press the power button on the first option I get the error "Failed to mount ..."
I think it might be the SD card. I have a 128 gb Samsung evo card. What should I do? Im mostly digital, so I cant use a smaller sd card.

Edit: I ended up using a smaller sd card. Thought the games had to be on the card as well, I was wrong.

Hey, does anyone know how to change a Paperclip into a Jig? I know it's a relatively straightforward, but I'm kind of new to hardmodding. Thanks!

The clip needs to touch pin nr 1 and 10 (the ones furthest away from eachother). Remember to turn the switch completely off before booting it up in RCM

If I am right, Atmosphere, HBL and everything is available on all versions on release. The only difference is that early versions can do with softmod and 5.0+ need a jig.

Am I right?

Can I update to the latest version and still use hepate or whatever it's called.

Also I can't see my Switch version. It says system update ready right beneath it

There's only public work being done on Atmosphere. Although no one has stated they are working on it, a homebrew launcher will need to be developed to work with Atmosphere. But we don't actually need a homebrew launcher to use homebrew per se even though it makes launching said homebrew much easier. Aside from that, nothing else is planned for release when Atmosphere is completed. Atmosphere is a completely fertilized piece of land that is ripe for growing crops aka homebrew. We need farmers, or developers, to make said homebrew.

As for your other point, firmwares past 4.1 will need a jig, paperclip, screwdriver, tin foil, wire, or anything that can conduct electricity. The hardmod can be accomplished without even opening your console or buying a jig.

Eh, I'd rather not.

I actually think I'm already on 5.0.0 but I'm not sure. How can I check if it says update ready?

Turn your switch all the way off (hold power button and press shut down or whatever pops up) and let it shut off, then hold both volume buttons and power at the same time, I believe that clears loaded (not installed) updates. You'll want to reboot again to exit that mode. Boot normally and check your firmware in system settings

Yay I'm 4.1.0. Thanks a lot for the help. So does that mean I only have to use RCM once?

Hi Guys,
I got a 4.0.1 switch and I bought Xenoblade 2 cartridge version. This one requires 4.1.0 and when I want to play the game, the Console ask me to update the firware.
My question is : will it update the Switch to the current firmware version (5.0.2) or to the version required by the game (4.1.0) ?
thx

Anyone ? Don't wanna try in case it updates to last available firmware :/

If it loads it from the cartridge, it should be 4.1 I would think....... as long as you have your internet turned off you could probably try it. I don't know for sure though.

taken from the Required firmware thread, I found this: "We think that the required firmware on games is also packet on the cartridge. :teach:"

So, a safe place for a noob :D

My question is: is Atmosphere launched through Horizon OS or before it?
With a coldboot (before the Switch is on), it would be before. However, the only coldboot we have at the moment is the tethered Fusee Gelee. There are theoretical warmboots (after the Switch is on), however those are not publicly available, except for 1.0 Switches utilizing Puyo-Puyo Tetris.

If someone told you that they are interested in being able to play their Switch backups (and homebrew), would it be a good time now to buy a Nintendo Switch before the revised hardware edition comes out? Asking for a friend..

Yes, the longer you wait, the higher the risk you take that you will end up buying the revised Switch, Mariko. As far as we know, they are not publicly available yet.

So you're saying that Atmosphere will be booted before Horizon OS? (even if you will need to do everything again after a reset or turned it off)

I'm asking this because I wanted to know if the CFW was loaded before the Horizon OS, would this make it impossible to Nintendo to even log what have you launched (since the CFW wouldn't be launched through the Horizon OS). Am I right? Sorry if it's a stupid question.
