Yo! Haven't been in here for a year almost.

I recently read about Tegra hardware bug and I have a Super Mario Odyssey Bundled Switch on 4.0.1.

Do I understand things correctly that "Atmosphere" is the CFW that exploits the Tegra hardware bug and is scheduled to be released on June 15th, 2018?
The exploit in question is Fusee Gelee, or Cold Rocket, and is going to be used to install said CFW. That date is based on the original release date for Fusee Gelee since CFW is a work-in-progress that is being coded daily. They can't exactly predict when they'll finish because there's a lot of variables to consider, but at the very least, it should be released sometime this summer.

Should I buy a grey switch from Amazon or spring the 100€ premium for a sealed red SMO bundle off ebay? The SMO bundle is 3.0.1 or 3.0.0 right?

Another question, even on the lastest firmwares, the JIG will only be needed for “maintenance” right? Like, if you need to load a different CFW? It’s not like a daily occurrence to insert the JIG?

Honestly I’d be happy to buy a grey switch off amazon, upgrade to 4.1 via cart if below 4.1 (for maximum microSD compatibility and fixes), and wait. (by the way what’s the cheapest game cart with 4.1) Not sure if this is the best course of actions.

May I ask a question here?
I already know that by joint pin 1 and 10, press + and power will enter RCM.
If I joint pin 9 and 10 together on the right joycon and keep it plug in, will I still be able to enter the original firmware by pressing the power button?
Or just press the power button and I can turn switch on into official system?
If yes, then I may just weld my right joycon and wait for release?

and another thing, if pin 9 and 10 is weld on the joycon, after boot into RCM, can I remove the joycon from switch?

I just received my switch with 3.0.2 and I never connected it to the Internet at all. Now, can I use the softmod when it releases or do I have to use the hardmod (jig) at launch and maybe later down the road a softmod will be released?

I guess since the Game downgrade thread was closed I'll post my question here. Currently my copy of BOTW is unplayable because I (like an idiot) formatted my SD card that contained my update data. Once CFW launches I should be able to play the game again because the emunand shouldn't "know" what patch level the game was previously at, would it? I think I'm probably missing something because that didn't seem to be the apparent case in that previous thread.

Im bored of switch scene so many news and things related to other things , an no final result neither in the scene or xecuter team .
Sometimes i rather think that no news at all from xecuter is better than putting info about some thing that has been achieve in the system , that will apply to the nand , that it will be used for aliens outter space in 20 years if the aliens achieve and achievement , and so on and on ............. and on

I have some questions:
1. 5.0.2 has same method for installing cfw?
2. Will latest firmware versions have to boot everytime in fg to use cfw?
3. Is cfw atmosphere ,,one install" for all firmwares?
4. Will all firmwares benefit the same options of cfw ?

Yes. However, I do not recommend it because Nintendo may be able to detect the welded joicon.

You can use both ways, theoretically.
The launch timing may be different or same.

I'm currently on 4.1.0 and have DNS blocked. Is there any way for me to use the eShop and install/update games that I bought while staying on 4.1.0? I'm guessing the eShop will force the latest version and everyone that is not on the latest version will have to wait for a CFW that makes it safe to update like on the N3DS?

Hi, I'm confused. Using the CFW will we be able to play any game regardless of it's firmware requirements? Or will we be bound to the firmware our Switch is on? Thanks.

Does anyone happen to know why I cant launch games on 3.0.0 while pegaswitch is active ?

I'm trying to play a release day copy of BOTW that works perfectly fine when the hbmenu is not installed.

Hi what is the different between the soft/hard mod everyone is talking about? I see everyone is just bending their joycon or use the jig no matter the fw. Also the hardware exploit and the upcoming cfw support all firmware so are there any reason to stay low?

There are going to be softmods in the future without the need for a jig for lower firmwares, so don't upgrade if you don't have to.

What I need to run Hatake exploit on my Switch 4.1.0?
I've put the files on the SD card already.

Do I need to short pins and boot on RCM only or I still need to plug the console into a PC to run fuseé geleé?

The CFW, Atmosphere, will be running on EmuNAND which should be updated to the latest firmware Nintendo has when the CFW is finished. So to answer your question, yes.

1. Yes, it will be done utilizing the hardmod of shorting pin 10 on the Switch then plugging a USB cable into your computer
2. If you leave the Switch on at all times (i.e. sleep mode), then no. But there are potential software exploits that work up to 4.1 that might mitigate the need for Fusee Gelee
3. Yes, install one and done. Afterwards, you will most likely then need to make an EmuNAND hence the need for a 64+ GB SD card
4. Yes since CFW will be available for all firmwares to use

I'm guessing the eShop will force the latest version and everyone that is not on the latest version will have to wait for a CFW that makes it safe to update like on the N3DS?
Unfortunately not at this time. Nintendo has even implemented a super update nag that prevents us from using any online services whatsoever.

Hi, I'm confused. Using the CFW will we be able to play any game regardless of it's firmware requirements? Or will we be bound to the firmware our Switch is on? Thanks.
When the CFW, known as Atmosphere, is completed, it will allow us to create an EmuNAND partition on SD cards. Imagine EmuNAND as a duplicate of your console, in this case the Switch. The reason EmuNAND is useful here is because we can safely make changes to it without worrying about bricking the device or updating. The SysNAND on the other hand is not so simple to be modified.

tl'dr: Yes.

Hi Guys,
I got a 4.0.1 switch and I bought Xenoblade 2 cartridge version. This one requires 4.1.0 and when I want to play the game, the Console ask me to update the firware.
My question is : will it update the Switch to the current firmware version (5.0.2) or to the version required by the game (4.1.0) ?
thx

@preacherfox The short answer is yes.

The reason being that Atmosphere will be installed onto an EmuNAND we make ourselves. This EmuNAND should be the one that is fully updated to the latest Nintendo Switch firmware as your SysNAND will stay on whatever firmware it is currently on. This is also part of the reason why there are recommendations against updating as depending on the firmware of your Switch, it will affect the ease of booting into Atmosphere from your SysNAND because we can't boot into it as soon as we power on the console.
