Hacking So, is it possible to get the DK Bongos working on Wii U with Nintendon't with the GC adapter?

Testing out what you sent me. Donkey Konga 1 and 2 (NTSC-U) work just fine, Donkey Konga 3 also works, no issues. The only game that still has problems is Jungle Beat. For some reason, the left bongo is still pressed down in the menus, but it works properly in-game. I suppose a work around is to keep switching the controller out for each level but that kinda sucks.
Still, this is leaps and bounds better than what we had! Lemme know if you need anything else!

Howard, holy crap man just realized I never responded when I meant to a looooong time ago. I must have been buzzed or something cuz I could have sworn I did already.

Anyway so far just testing Donkey Konga, everything is working great with test dol 8, which is the latest dol I received via email. Here's a pic of the default state with just background noise

It's hard to tell what the minimum values are but whenver I clap or make any noise I've seen it go as high as 57 I think, but minimal number are just 1 or 2. Hope it helps, I'll try out Donkey Konga 3 when I have some time, I refuse to play 2 due to the track list, sucked hard IMO but I already have a 1:1 copy of DK3. Hope whatever changes you implemented to get this working get commited to the official version soon. Thanks again for working on this.

Yep. This is it. This is really good. I've been trying 2 player and it works very well.

Also, I'm a complete doofus..Remember how Donkey Konga 2 NTSC didn't work for me? For some reason, the "Volume Balance" option was set all the way to Sound Effects, so the music was just muted.....I don't even remembering setting that option, but that shows that there is nothing wrong with my version or Nintendon't.

However...with this new version, USB Loader GX tells me that "This version of Nintendon't doesn't support loading from USB"..

But yeah, the version 8 of your test is the real deal. Calibration is the only thing that's not working now, also, it quite often picks up claps when you hit the start button. Maybe add some cycles of delay when hitting it, although, I suppose it could be just because it is so close to the microphone, which makes it pretty much impossible to patch..

Anyway, you should definitely apply all this Bongo coding to the real version of Nintendon't and announce that Bongos are pretty much perfect now.

Thank you so much for all your work again. I apologize for not reporting back for so long.

Also, if you don't mind me asking...is there a reason you guys have chosen to "NEVER" support GBA linking?

?

The changes were committed in v2.273
Code to not pick up start as a clap was added in Test 7. It should work.
GX needs to be updated to properly detect which version of nintendont is installed.

It will work on a wii with gamecube ports and native on.

Hello,

This is a super old thread, but I wasn't able to find anything else that was relevant anywhere else. I'm also going to preface this with the following: I am very new to all of these hacking stuff, so I may be doing something wrong. Apologies in advance.

So, I have a PAL Wii that I just soft modded. I installed Nintendont v5.480 and put my own Japan Donkey Konga ripped isos on a USB.
Donkey Konga 3 launches just fine, however, there is a problem with the bongos, as far as I can see:

1. Left bongo works perfectly on all 4 ports
2. Right bongo works perfectly on all 4 ports
3. Start button works perfectly on all 4 ports
4. Claps are not detected at all, on any ports for any amount of players

The only setting I changed for the launch are Memcard Emulation to On.

Is there anyone still alive that cares about this that can help me troubleshoot, if nothing else?

Thanks!
