Wasnt it stated already that to eventually hack a car with a tegra x1 you would need to be on the person's car first? It isnt any different to just break and steal it like it has been always done.

even if thats the case its every device which runs this chip which will have trouble or issues , tech you could use the exploit to fuck around with teslas software or even drive the car with a Joy con
You could also make a modchip out of Labo and hack it that way.

It is still being paranoid if you believe it will have a impact on cars. What other devices uses the tegra x1 other than some cars? Tablets? Smart devices? Buuuuua, people are sure going to destroy the world hacking a few stuff...
I think more importantly you have to look at it from a legal stand point. If a customer had an issue with their car and were able to claim that this vulnerability had any sort of impact on it, then Nvidia could be held liable for the damages.
The thought of someone being able to steal your car with a Switch Pro Controller is the least of their worries.
