So with both of these games being made by essentially 2 different versions of Rare, coming out within a year of each other and both having what I'd argue is that same Rare charm, I was curious which title you guys think is overall better. Playtonic's Yooka-Laylee or Rare's Sea of Thieves? Both titles seem to have the same consensus around them too, showing a lot of promise before release, a competent game was delivered, and yet players were ultimately left disappointed in one way or another despite still having some fun with the games. In regard to my question, I'm only talking about what you think is the better game in terms of more fun, how often you imagine you'd return to it, and other things along those lines. It's not a question of which do you like because say Yooka-Laylee is out for the system that you have, but Sea of Thieves is not.
For some scoring context, here are the metacritic ratings as of this posting:
Sea of Thieves Xbone:
Critics: 70

Sea of Thieves PC:

Yooka-Lalyee PS4:

Yooka-Lalyee Xbone:
Critics: 73
Users: 5.6
Yooka-Lalyee Switch:
Critics: 75
Users: 7.5
Yooka-Lalyee PC:
Critics: 73
Users: 6.5
Those numbers are pretty similar between the two, so it doesn't seem like there is one clear-cut winner, so I'm curious as to which version of Rare you all think has the better game on their hands, and which of the two devs you look forward more to seeing what they come up with next.
