I've been out of the 3ds hacking scene for a while and I'd like to update my N3dsXL with the latest and greatest hacks and cfw. Could someone please tell me what the current best methods are? I currently have 9.0.0-20U firmware an am using RX Tools. Is there anything I should know before attempting to rehack my 3ds and what is the best way to proceed?

Read https://3ds.guide, you can install b9s from the homebrew launcher.
1. Uninstall theme hax by booting into your sysNAND (eg turn on the console with the SD card out then put it back in when the home menu loads) and changing the theme colour. If you don't do this, after you install B9S you will get a black screen on boot or an error on boot and the only way to fix it will be to remove theme hax manually by deleting files from the Nintendo 3DS folder.
2. Follow https://3ds.guide/installing-boot9strap-(soundhax) but you don't have to actually use SoundHax if you have your own preferred method of getting into homebrew
3. While following the instructions there will be an optional instruction to move emuNAND, follow that

I've followed the guide up until Moving Emunand, using a fresh sd card. Right now my concern is that my emunand is installed with more games than half the size of my biggest SD card. I'm guessing that I'll have to manually install all my games again?

Put the card with the emuNAND in the console after you open GodMode9 (use the unmount SD card option before removing the current card) then follow the steps to move emuNAND. When done following the guide just delete the Nintendo 3DS folder on the new SD card (important) then copy the old Nintendo 3DS folder over. All games should then be there.

Hey guys. It’s been a while that I’ve been on here and I have my N3ds and I really don’t remember what I put on it. What would be the best route for me to start over. When I go into the settings. It’s says sys 11.2.0-35U. I have luma on it but every time open it, it crashes. Found hourglass9 v1.40 (power on with start) found luma3ds v6.6 configurations (power on with select). Based on my memory, I’m on that al9h? So I’m assuming that I’m on something old. So what route can I go to update this or start fresh? And same as before I try and use the search on my phone and I can’t find answers easily. This is the first N3ds I’m working on. I have another on with B9S? And luma but I’ll save the questions for that one once I’m done updating this one. Also I do not have cubic ninja or any games that I would need.

correct, only thing that will change, is a9lh upgraded to b9s, and luma upgraded from 6.6 to 9.0

Ok perfect. Last thing. Is the newest firmware safe? I don’t even know what version is the newest

Just picked up US and UM and wanna play online with my daughter.

Ok. This is total noob as I should know this. My N3ds ( not the one I posted about earlier). I have b9s and luma. How do I go about updating them before I system update? Can I do it from the console? Or do I need to download files and transfer to the sd?

if you have Luma 7.1 https://3ds.hacks.guide/updating-b9s

if you have luma 8.0 you need to either manually update the boot.firm or install https://gbatemp.net/threads/release-luma-updater.471739/ and update it via that

if you have luma 9.0 it's updated already and just update your updater from above

Hey, guys. I've been wanting to install CFW on my 11.6 o3DS and after talking a bit with some members here, I was told that the best option would be Sighax, but I'm still kind of confused on what https://3ds.hacks.guide/ is about. Could someone help me on how to get started and things like that?
