So I got another Wii console recently, seems not hacked at first, but during the hackmii installer I saw the "Uninstall DVDX" option.
Does that mean the console was previously hacked and they forgot to remove, or was that a stub to overwrite homebrew?

I think the option is always displayed, not only if it was previously installed.
If not, then it has previously been hacked, but you can uninstall DVDX safely, it's not needed anymore as HBC is granting pressed and burned DVD disc reading access now (if your drive is compatible).

It's probable the previous owner installed it, and forgot to delete it (people usually only remember about uninstalling patched IOS and visible channels)

Thanks! So DVDX is just an obsolete homebrew useless today? I ran the hackmii installed a second time and saw the uninstall option missing.
And I also found that this console was indeed previously hacked--a larger number of non-stub IOSes are marked as green in Wiimod 3.2 and they all had version 65535.
It is likely that HBC was removed after the 4.2 update.

This smells of cIOScorp. Reinstall them immediately.
Thanks for the advice. I don't have a lot of idea what this Wii has gone thru. It's a Japanese model and it's currently dumping all my NTSC-U GC games in Japanese region.
It would probably take a long time as my Wii doesn't connect to my home Wi-Fi :/

Also I got this error for uninstalling some of the V65535 components. How much of an issue am I in?

What are you trying to uninstall ?
you want to brick your console?
NEVER uninstall a system file. You are trying to DELETE IOS 57 !!!
STOP.

parrotgeek1 told you to reinstall, not to uninstall.
You are making a mess with your console.
at this point, just stop what you are doing, see if you can still launch HBC, and run syscheck (follow the guide in my signature)
post your result here. (if it still work)

I allowed my self to do all of this because my Wii already has Bootmii on Boot2. Some of the IOSes downloaded from NUS don't properly overwrite the modded versions so I have to delete then install.
(I was using Wiimod 3.2 for IOS reinstallation)

1. reinstall HBC (it will use IOS58 instead of 61). That's why you have issues installing wads.
2. use modmii instead of Wiimod., and use this wad manager (THIS version, not another one) : https://github.com/FIX94/Some-YAWMM-Mod/releases
I'm not sure if Xflak already updated modmii to use this version, or it still uses an old wad manager. But replace the provided manager with this one.

if you don't want to follow modmii, at least replace your IOS 249 with d2x v8 final base57.

Thanks for the help!
Hi

Please do the following

Delete IOS 11, 20, 30 (not exactly sure how you have such old versions; they're unused now/"mothballed" according to wiki)

Reinstall IOS 22, 28, 31, 33, 34

Since you have a patched ios 80, be careful! it might be a korean region changed wii. make a nand backup before trying to reinstall it.

If you get 003 error on boot after reinstalling ios80 then restore nand backup

@K3Nv2 Snow Day is pretty fun. My only bitch would be the camera controls, when you move around, say down, you have to move the right stick left or right to get camera to turn and get your view, other than that I like it so far.

I just been playing offline, and they give you a few bots here n there on your team to help battle. I don't think it's as funny as the other games tho, more battle oriented than humor, which kinda sucks, but I'm still early in it

@BigOnYa, doesnt the game have a campaign mode?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea, and co-op, but you can also start a pvp session and battle just with friends. You get special skill cards (powers) the more you play. And higher value cards, but you can only enable so many cards at a time.

Toilet paper is considered the money, you collect and buy stuff with TP, kinda funny. Graphics are def better than the other games tho, I think they used Unity 5 engine.
