The post has been updated. I've credited you for helping me with this.
Hmm you say "Now, if you want to play all 30 Areas instantly, then in Offset (h) in Columns 01-04 just put the values FF in each column. "
I'm not entirely certain about that, that's what the cheat from dsrules does and it seems to screw up around Area 24, at least it did here..
I'm confused how OPENING the Areas exactly works still, there seem to be something we're missing / at odds but since I want to play the game legit (lol), I won't be pushing further.

Our Hex Editor method does open all 30 Areas for playing. It doesn't screw up Areas 20-24. Why yes, it does unlock only the 1st puzzle in every area, but you can unlock all the stages.

not sure if citra save is compatible with gateway saves .sav
but, I just beaten all timer locked stages and the unlock all areas cheat values still the same as the one posted

I didn't get that here. But maybe because I didn't start a new game from scratch..
I'm at stage 16, and when I did open all 30 stages by setting FF there, 17-23 were closed, 24 alone was opened (wtf), and the rest closed.
But yeah i realise it makes no sense, could be a 1 time bug or something ^^;

Well that's certainly strange. I just did the same thing and I have all 30 Areas. Maybe you should try Columns 01-05? Not stopping at 04?

Honestly I won't bother as i want to play the game legit (not open Areas in advance) and we're good with the current findings.
Btw speaking of hexediting in columns-style is confusing as hell, you better be using offsets xD

could you upload that savefile?
I've actually just unlocked Areas 31 and 32 by Hex Editing, so... sorry. But still, here ya go. If you need one with Areas 31 and 32 locked, I'll try to lock them.
P.S. I managed to lock Areas 31 and 32. Here ya go.

Thanks
using the Area 31 and 32 locked save file then apply the cheat I posted, all areas still stay unlocked, so I am not sure how it affects area 20-24

although the values from your save with All Areas unlocked are
00302EE4 7FFFFFFF
00302EE8 FFFFFF00
00302EEC 000001FF

If I want to use this on physical 3DS (instead of Citra), do I have to first create a save file in Citra, hex edit the savefile, then import with JKSM?

EDIT: Never mind. I discovered JKSM uses all.dat saves, just like Citra O.o

Does anyone know if a pre-patched .cia has been uploaded anywhere? I know you can't link it but I am having some serious issues getting this to work, I can extract it, edit the banner files (though I am not 100% certain I am doing this correctly) but when I rebuild the CIA file I get a sucess message but no outputted file :( I really want to play this game I am a big FF fan.

Apologies for necro-ing the thread, but I've run into an issue that I'm unsure of how to solve. I edited my save file while the timer for unlocking Area 6 was counting down. Once I loaded the game up, I was able to access Area 6 from Area 5, but it's still locked in the overworld. I didn't realize this until I finished Area 7 and moved onto Area 7, which is is properly unlocked in the overworld. This is an issue, since it looks like the level cap for the characters is supposed to be raised once Area 6 is unlocked.

In Offset (h) in Column 04 put the value 80. Next is Area 32. In Offset (h) in Column 05 put the value 01.
ive never done hex editing but isnt there information missing as to what exact Offset (h) row i have to do the changes in? the edit right before with the timer has the rows in question mentioned but for the Area 31 and 32 unlocks its missing.

For unlocking Area31 & 32 done legitly, this is the procedure:
--
Unlock 31 & 32
At byte EAF
Add 80h to whatever value you have there (e.g. if yours is 00h, then just set it to 80h, if yours is 1Fh, then set it to 1Fh + 80h = 9Fh)
Go to EB0, set it to 01
--
Open 31 & 32
Go to EB4
Add 80h to whatever value you have there like above
Go to EB5, set it to 01
--
So if we combine this with purchasing the kupo fruit; Ie for a person starting the game who just wants 31 & 32 accessible and the timers gone, the following is needed:
FF to bytes EAC - EB0
80 for EBA
01 for EB5
Hi, i tried applying this, and it seems to mostly work, except that I cannot push Start to "Jump" between areas, i can only transition to area 2 using the button on the far right side of Area 1. I will report on what happens when i get to the end of area 2, but it's not letting me even go into area 2 without first going through area 1.

Oh yeah, and in the final lines of the post it should say "EB4" not "EBA", it took me a bit to figure that out.

I seem to be able to Jump to Area 3 after beating Area 2. This particular save file i modified, was one where i reached the end of Area 1 and then waited the 30 minutes to unlock Area 2. Still can't access Area 2 from the Map, but i guess when i clear it out it won't be a big deal. Still a strange bug!

Edit: Even in Area 3, it gives me a "cannot level up until you reach Area 3" message.

Edit 2: I beat Area 3 and i still can't level my chars up past level 3.

Okay, i think i fixed my problem!

Basically, I took the save where i freshly unlocked Area 2 properly, took the byte at 0x0EB1 (which was 07 in the "area 2 unlocked properly" save), and OR'd it with the same byte in the 'corrupted' save, which was 1B. I got a result of 1F, and when i applied that byte to 0x0EB1, and restored that save, it retained all my save data, unlocked area 2 on the world map, gave me the achievement "Beginning Grounds", and now i can level up characters. I dont know what happened, but i think the OP needs to be updated to properlyt communicate ShadowRunner's hack, with the notice that you shouldn't apply the hack while you're at the end of a world and the timer for the next world has run out. I think. Anyway i'll post the multiple save files if anyone wants to compare and figure out exactly what went wrong, i only gave my best guess at what broke it. One is Area 1 finished with the timer for Area 2 ran out and ready to open area 2 but NONE of the hacks mentioned here applies, the next is what happens after i load that save and enter area 2 and do nothing else, another is the corrupted save (hack applied, world 2 and 3 beat, but world 2 inaccessible from the overworld & not able to level up past 3), and the final one is the fix i applied (everything good).
