The modifications cannot be permanently stored on the cartridge. As long as you back up your son's save file and restore it when you're done borrowing his game to play Supernova Sun or Penumbra Moon (use JKSM or Checkpoint for that!), everything will be fine.

Thanks, I know how to do that with checkpoint, I have done it today.. saved a file from tomodachi game cartridge and send the save file to a freeshop copy, so I can play without using the cartridge and didn`t have to start all over..

I had the problem with patching the 3ds file that it never worked, but it was caused by my C drive not having enough space.
So I deleted a lot of stuff and got 10 more gb of free space.
It worked, and I was able to play the hack, however I didn't randomize so I wanted to try that.
So when I patched it again, this time with random encounters, it failed to work.
I checked to see that my C drive had filled up to only 3gb of space again.
I deleted some more stuff, but as soon as I tried to patch it again it refilled.
I assume those are temporary files from the patching process that aren't being deleted for some reason, however I cannot find them anywhere.
Not in appdata and not anywhere else, I would really appreciate if you were able to offer your help ^^

install windirstat and use that to find where your HDD space is being taken up.

In case anyone else is having the problem(Probably not since I couldn't find an answer xD) Just download the program and then navigate to appdata>Local>DotNet3DSToolkit
I had a folder consisting of several gb for every time I ran the program there.

I have a cia from UltraSun (from FreeShop) and I tried to dump like said in the tutorial, but inside the "00040000" there's no "00040000001B5000". I played the game around 10minutes or so, just to have a savefile, but I don't care losing my progress. I haven't updated the game either so it should be v1.0.

The folders I got in "00040000" are: 00030700, 00053f00, 00068f00, 00076500, 0008f000, 000afe00, 000b4f00, 000ec400, 000ee000, 0012cb00, 00137f00, 0016e700, 00177000, 00187e00, 0018d00, 001a0500, 001aaa00, 001b5000, 001b9d00, 001bae00, 001bc600, 03070c00, 0bcfff00, 0d921e00, 0eb00000, 0ec10000, 0f12ee00, 0f800100.

What can I do now?

001B5000. See how it's in a 00040000 folder? 00040000/001B500 = 00040000001B500.

So my copy of Ultra Moon is at 1.2 and is a CIA from the Freeshop. I tried the drag and drop method and it refuse to drop in the sd card. The error says

Failed to open "C:\Users\Istovi\AppData\Local\Temp\7zE851BF116\luma\titles\00040000001B5100\romfs\a\1\5\9" for reading

It says this for every single file from the luma folder so I don't know what to do. I even removed the "read only" option under my Windows folder. I even removed my save file from Ultra Moon. Also, the Temp folder is not even there so do I have to create one or what? I'm lost. In case you want to ask, I already enabled the Game Patching option. Thanks.

Extract the zip file to a folder on your PC, then copy.

Terribly sorry to bother you again, this time I just really don't understand the problem or maybe I'm just doing it wrong.
Like I said I wanted to randomize the wild encounters, I have tried it several times now with both the all in one and the seperate commands(playing on Citra as .3ds) and when I say I don't want to randomize it just builds the .3ds without a hitch afterwards and I can play the game flawlessy.
However when I do hit yes and randomize my encounters, then close Pk3ds it builds the modified rom, same file size as the working one but Citra just gives an unknown error, Citra support told me the randomizer corrupts the Rom.
I really do want to play it randomized tho
I guess it could have something to do with some files missing for Pk3ds, but you already included everything I need in the download, right?
Again, sorry for bothering you with this but playing without the randomizer makes it a little bit too vanilla for me xD

It sounds like an issue with Citra itself, or the randomizer. Try playing on a 3DS instead.

I have these files, I don't own a 3ds and do not know how to merge them, I've followed the guide completely, but am not sure what to do with this; I've tried to launch the "Modified_ROM.3ds" in Citra but to no avail. I just am not sure what to do, any help?

sorry if this post seems ignorant, I just don't know how to proceed, I just really want to play this game.

found a bug/glitch when fighting a trainer in route 3 one of his pokemon is carrying a focus sash if it's a 1-hit kill the hp bar just stays full but damage is still there, also why other pokemons doesn't register on pokedex?, is it because they're not supposed to be caught yet?.. in expanded build can i go online or battle online?

It doesnt register because in alola there is no nationaldex

I don't think you'll get help if you straight up say you don't own a 3ds.
Owning a 3ds is required to dump the rom, if you don't have a 3ds that means you pirated the game and downloaded it illegally.
I'd understand if you owned a 3ds but didn't want to hack it or whatever but straight up saying you don't own one? Why would you say that and expect to get help?

Now back to my own problem, I moved the randomized rom on my 3ds but it doesn't even show the game on the home menu. I think it really is just a problem with PK3ds, If I download PK3ds from their page and just replace the one you uploaded with the patch stuff, will it still work and patch properly? Or will I just have to play without randomized stuff?

I don’t own a 3ds, however my friend does, I lost mine a year back, and I still wanna be able to play this, 3ds rom files found online are usually compressed and the all_in_one.bat won’t produce a Modified_ROM.3ds file if this is the case. Because my file is not obtained online, it is not compressed so I was able to get the Modified_Rom.3ds, this is proof. But I just want to play the hack, I don’t like or partake in piracy, just please? Could anyone offer assistance? I just wanna experience this hack, it brings me back to dreyano hacks alot!
