hello everyone, quick noob question. Does the profile/save data transfer tool added in switch firmware 4.0.0 allow you to transfer your data from a 5.0.0+ console to a 4.1.0 one? or only same firmware on both?

I have a current firm switch with some eshop games, anyway to buy a new(exploitable) switch and transfer everything to it from 5.0.1?

No, the save transfer tool requieres the same firmware version and the highest version. Ao if you want to transfer saves from 5.0 to 4.1 you have to update 4.1 to 5.0 and then transfer.

So, there's no way to transfer saves to a PC or download saves through the Switch?

if you want to dump the saves to a pc, you'll require a 3.0.0 switch

I have a question about CFW - when custom firmware does drop and we can use emunand, will we be able to use our cartridge savegames on the emunand? I'm on 4.1, for reference. I'd rather not lose all my hours in Zelda and Mario...

Can I go to the eshop while on a older fw
Which both of these questions will be no... until there is a work around. Which I don't see one in the near future

Should be able to. Installing emuNAND involves making a copy of your sysNAND on your SD Card, and all save files are stored on the system.

Somehow i managed to factory reset my switch and lost every game. I had only downloads. Is their anything i can do without updating? I am on 4.1 right now. Guess i fucked up big xP

sadly you will need to update and re download all your purchased games

you will still be able to use Team xecuter when released

When we hack our Switches and get CFW installed, will it be possible to go online with our (actually) legitimately purchased games?

I have Splatoon 2 and I am itching to play it, but I also want homebrew on the Switch.

With the Wii and the Wii U you could go online even after hacking it. Is that how the Switch is going to be after being hacked?

I want to modify my botw save, I saw somewhere that it might be possible. If it's not yet, it looks like it will be soon-ish. I have firmware 4.1.0. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

you will have to wait. The exploit for 4.1 hasn't been released yet.
