Hacking Can't download (error 204036) but can't delete fake ticket either

I've had a bunch of games installed through WADs on my Wii, and decided to buy some of them.

First I deleted them through the Data Manager, then went into the channel. The first game of the ones I had deleted that I bought was Chrono Trigger. Downloading failed with error 204036. I figured it was because I previously had it installed with a fake ticket, and some googling later it looks like that was my issue. So I download Any Title Deleter 1.1 and launch it.

The only fake tickets visible were four TurboGrafx games. No sign of Chrono Trigger's ticket. Tried to redownload the game again, but got the same error. Bought Final Fantasy III, which I also previously had in WAD form, but got the same error. Trying to download to the SD card didn't work either.

Deleted the fake tickets of the TurboGrafx games. Tried downloading Chrono Trigger again, but it still failed. Bought Lords of Thunder, which was one of those four TurboGrafx games, and that worked fine.

So it would seem that I still have most of the fake tickets, but I can't see them. What's going on?

I found a thread with the same problem: Lost Wii download rights for a VC game.

Looks like I need to install the WADs again, after which the ticket will appear in Any Title Deleter. But after that I won't have any tickets for the affected games until I either repurchase it (without points deduction), or ask Nintendo to re-sync my account with my Wii. I've read elsewhere that purchasing something else also works to restore the tickets.

Still would like to know why the fake tickets disappeared-but-not-really, though.

If you don't have a backup of the real ticket from when you purchased it I don't think there's any way to recover it.

Here's what I did this evening:

* Reinstalled the games using WADs.
* Deleted the games, including their ticket, using Any Title Deleter.
* Bought a different game.
* Looked at the list of my past purchases and saw that Chrono Trigger was no longer recognised as bought (so buying a different game didn't trigger a re-sync).
* Tried to buy Chrono Trigger again. Got a different error before points were deducted.
* Re-entered the Wii Shop Channel (happens automatically after an error), and saw that Chrono Trigger was now recognised as bought.
* Downloaded Chrono Trigger.
* Downloaded Final Fantasy III without needing to repeat the above steps.

All is well now.
