It's worth noting that these keys can be used to decrypt .NCA files, the same week a Switch game cart dumper was released.

At the time of writing it is still impossible to run ripped Switch game cartridge files, but after this week, and a year of Switch hacks - it looks like we are closer than ever to seeing retail games running on hacked Switch systems.

i mean look at the dreamcast
Lol... Even if I had millions in money back then I couldn't play almost any DC game here...

There was only a few games for sale here and almost no one had a PC or internet back then here and ordering online wasn't exactly like today.

In the island I live DC was a big failure even when it shown up... When PS1 had a huge section of games.

Even Xbox original struggled to sell here while the PS2 everyone has\had and had a huge section.

Xbox360 also never got that much popular in comparison to the PS3, but was still better than Xbox Vs PS2. Xbox One section nowadays is close to PS4, but still we don't see much ppl with them on the island and it's the first Xbox I skipped since all games are in the PC and initially was considerably worse than PS4 performance\graphics...

Where I live we have way more Sony sales than Nintendo, sega and M$ together, Switch section also still suck like 4 or 5 games in a store to hundred or more PS4 games on each store.

But Sega DC has been the worse so far, even Sega Mega drive had a way bigger section than DC...

More expensive then buying games?
Back then I even had to pay quite a lot for my cousin's CD copies burned for me, but I can't remember exactly how much it cost, the the CD burner drive was quite expensive I only had a CD reader on my fathers PII PC, only around 1999 I had a CD burner in it.

My father was one of the few with PCs, even when I had 3 years old I remember my father's PI and playing games on MS dos with disks. Even the PII had MS dos. 1995 was a Nice year when I had 5 years old my father got Win95, but MS dos was still the main OS, we had to boot win95 manually.

I loved going stealth to the computer and play all night without my father knowing :)

It was still wonderfully just downloading a game burning in a cd and running on the DC... Though some games I needed to put a cd load it then put the game cd, after I think they probably added that into downloaded backups as I only burned them and run them right away...

Mind you that even though Dr. Abrasive's Saturn Satiatior is impressive(real name no joke) it isn't the first Saturn ODE either. Dr. Abrasive is the first to dump and crack the firmware of the mostly unused VCD port in the back of the Saturn and use this as a means of loading games from USB which makes it pretty much plug n play. If you want a similar device now you can jump on the waiting list for the rhea/phoebe(be quick they sell out in minutes and getting another chance to get on the waiting list can take months) but those are SD based and need to be installed(removing the disk drive and replacing it with the device). The Satiator also has the benefit of you keeping your original disk drive in the system which is a big draw for some people. IIRC the Satiator is getting an SD port as well so depending on it's price/availability/features other ODEs may become redundant.

It's a common misconception. The Dreamcast wasn't hacked and it didn't have piracy for quite some time. The rips most people run were actually based off of an unused feature that the system had, Mil-CD. Running a 1:1 DC game would result in failure. The console released in late 1998 but the scene wasn't a thing until mid 2000 IIRC and that's around the time piracy was achieved. Now the Sega CD was a different story. All you needed was to do a 1:1 rip and you could backup pretty much anything.

Sorry for ranting
the utopia boot disc was out early, it only took a few months. the utopia team was busted for this if my memory serves me right.

if you go by the US release then it was less than a year I think. I was going by JP release date.

CD drives were over a thousand dollars until 1995, and that was if you had a computer that could use one it wasn't until 98 that even cd readers were standard in computers and hardly anyone even had a computer back then.
Do you remember how much a cd-r was per disc? Just wondering, like if you knew someplace, or if your school had one, was it worth it?
