Hacking Is there any way or tool to invert Y-axis in games not supporting it?

Hi,

I recently got a PS3 CFW and I've tried a few shooting games which do not have in-game options to configure the Y-axis so that if you press up the cursor will go up at the moment.

I cannot control the cursor like that, so I was trying to find any setting in the PS3 system settings to allow me to invert the Y-axis so that if I press up in the remote the cursor will go down but I've not found anything.

Do you know if such an option exists in the PS3 system settings? or failing that, any plugin which allows me to have control have how the controller behaves so that I could invert the Y-axis there?

Buy a Titan One and swap the axis for that analog using a script through GTuner.

Thanks, never heard about either. I'll google Titan One and GTuner and see what I could do with that setup and how much it'd be.

I was trying to do something in the PS3 itself because then I'd like to remote play with my Vita (which controls the PS3), so if the devices above are hardware between the PS3 and a external remote control, I think that wouldn't work in the case of remote play either... :(

Probably not. Most likely the code that reads the analog input is different in each game. It's a shame theres still games without the option though, i can't play without inverted camera controls myself.

It seems such a basic option, specially in some genres, that I cannot even believe that some were released like that and everyone thought that was a good idea? Surely for developers shouldn't be too much of a feature, specially when this is nothing new... loads of games offered that long time ago already.

I can't play at all without that setting wth :S

Ew inverted controls.

There is something kind of like it for the 360 where you can remap controls on a hacked machine at OS level, and I imagine something similar happens for the PS3.

Otherwise yeah it is game specific hacks like on the older systems and they are not so simple to do for the PS3 (debug options are a bit limited and it is nice to have such things).

Looking at the controller PCB ( http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-3360340/ps3-controller-usb-pins.html ) if you instead fancied a hardware hack it is all soldered onto the PCB (compared to say a gamecube one which has one on a separate board with simple wires connecting it) and while I imagine you could desolder it or start cutting traces and shoving another wire (and switch) in there fairly easily it is probably not what you were aiming for. Price wise that intermediate/man in the middle device mentioned earlier is not the priciest either, and has more functionality than you are likely to want to hardware hack in.

You would have to hack every single game that you want to, and that requires advanced hacking skills.

I use normal camera controls, but there are some games that have fixed inverted camera controls (such as LoZ:WW and FFXII) so I know your feeling.
