I do wonder how much these characters can add gameplay wise. Sure it's good fan service, but the level designs are already finalised and there was no obvious secret paths that could be exclusive to them. I guess Mighty will feature some kind of rolling attack and Ray will likely glide (which makes more sense than an echidna gliding)? Amy's gameplay in Sonic Advance 1 was actually decent and added a unique challenge to the game. I hope they take cues from that somehow.

Everything says "physical release" or "physical edition". The collector's edition they released originally was technically a physical release as well. Just with a game code instead of a disc.

This actually kind of pisses me off if they're not gonna make an update for the original Sonic Mania. It's been 5 MONTHS and they're already making a definitive edition of the game?
