I used this guide gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-blocking-online-updates-and-play-online-with-ccproxy-easy.369720/

and added a couple extras in nintendo_filter.txt

This will allow you to access eshop and download games without triggering system update. Best part no dns needed as it creates a proxie server.

I wrote a updated guide but as i am a new member i could not ppost hyperlinks

pm me for link

It feels like the friends play the game for you.
I get that Kirby games are easy, but this is an entire new level of easy.

Kirby games aren't challenge-based games, in fact they're designed to be as easy to play as possible. (Kirby and the Crystal Shards was the first game I 100% completed, when I was... 11?)

Kirby is about approaching each level with a moveset and style that suits you. It's Nintendo's "open character roster" game, except with one character. Think about it: how many other Nintendo main series first party IPs have character rosters?

You could argue Mario Kart... and that's about it (and that's just because it's a multiplayer racing game: all of those have a roster)

Would make sense considering that otherwise people would just change the system’s date and time.

It’s good if you want to be able to play it right when it comes out.
Other than that idk why someone would do so.

Besides that, the new Kirby doesn’t look much fun compared to the Wii one.

I'd buy it only to be able to play it with my 5 year old daghter, would be good game to introduce her into gaming, other than that id probably get board after playing it by myself after 10 min because of how easy it is, now Dk tropical freeze dang that game is great, with perfect difficulty maybe too much for casual players

I think it would be wise not to assume you know what other people's circumstances are.
Perhaps someone wants to play it on holiday and cannot afford to download an entire game on their mobile connection etc.
Perhaps someone lives in an area with poor internet speeds and doesn't want to be waiting 12 hours for the game to install

I'm using the update block DNS and my games are still able to download updates. Too bad you can't cancel and go physical.

For what it's worth, I was able to activate my 1.1.0 install of Kirby at midnight so my $60 wasn't wasted and I'm still on 4.1. Can't download the 1.1.1 update anymore (requiring system update), but that's okay, just wonder what changed in that .1 (maybe requiring 5.0 support! :rofl2:). With Kirby at my side I'm ready for the (possibly but hopefully not) long CFW wait.

You won't be able to play without updating. It's the main reason I don't pre-purchase digitally
Hello!
Sorry if it has already been answered, but... if I'm on 4.1.0 and I buy the Kirby physical game...
Will it also force me to update the system to 5.0 to I can play it, or will I be able to play it without having to update the system?
Thanks!

You will be able to play it but you wont be able to download the patch without a system update.

Who the hell pre-order digital goods?
People like me that are bad with saving money for a specific need, so they pre-order stuff so that they don't forget to buy it later, or simply blow it on something else in the meantime >.> Seriously, if I see reserves in my Paypal, I'll spend it. It's a bad habit. >_<

Hi guys. I am able to play Kirby :)
When I launch game, it says there is an update available, but to download it, I need to update System Firmware. So far, I have been able to skip update and play game.

Did you try pressing + and clicking check for update? I've updated all my games on 4.1.0 yesterday without updating firmware.

Use your friend's switch instead. If you just bring in some extra joycons and use their switch, you can bypass updating yours.

only works if your friend doesn't want homebrew
