Hey all, I’m back with another question here. With usb loader gx, I can run all Wii games flawlessly whether downloaded online or installed from a hard copy. For GameCube games however, I’ve installed all games from physical copies as I own all the ones I wanted to install and play. But I always get mixed results when trying to load a GameCube game either via usb loader gx or nintendont. At this point I’ll just be glad it loads at all in the first place. But anyways, it seems I’ll either get a black screen so no proper video displayed while the Wii remains on. But more recently I’m past that and the gc games sometimes run for either a few minutes or just mere seconds. It’ll mostly crash within seconds of any intro screen and just gives me the old GameCube error where it says to check GameCube instructions booklet. At times I can play for a few minutes until it gives me the error. I’ve very much new to all of this modding and what not so I have no clue as to where I went wrong. If there’s any details I can provide to help solve this issue please let me know and I can do my best to provide them. I want to say I have the latest nintendont and usb loader gx and cios installed but not entirely sure I’ll need to see if I even know how to check for that lol. I’ve noticed that wii games are properly formatted when installing on the wbfs folder so they work just fine. Now when installing GameCube games I checked the hdd and I do believe they’re iso but actual file says “game” and it’s a winRAR archive type. Seems off to me but I just installed them directly to the games folder on my external drive using usb loader gx as I installed Wii games directly from discs. I feel like the files iso should not look like this but I haven’t altered anything. Simply installed them from discs. GameCube games are essentially installed as: Usb/games/gametitle[codeid]/game.iso
Checked the properties of the file and it’s a winRAR archive iso not sure if that’s how it’s suppsed to be. Not sure what went wrong but I can’t play GameCube games consistently at all. I only started modding to gift the Wii to my friend as they loved playing GameCube way back in the day. Any help would be a life saver.

It’s fine that the .iso shows as a winrar archive. How did you create your .iso?
Hi, not sure how to close this as I’ve solved the issue but turns out it was the drive I was using. Don’t recall exactly what kind it was but was a Lacie 1.5T drive and I guess it has a spin down issue or something like that as it could not properly play gc games. I simply switched over to a WD my passport 1tb and it plays all the games with no issues. I’ve had issues with this drive as well but starting to think all drives have some incompatibility issues to a certain extent. I now use a 32g sdhc card and my wd drive to solve any issues I’ll get with my drive e.g can’t use music on usb loader gx through my drive for whatever reason so my sd card serves as a work around solution. Thanks for replying.

Oh and installed all gc games via disc copies so directly to the system.
