I'm at my wits end with this. I started playing a Japanese VC copy of Pokemon Emerald to get that sweet sweet mew event, however when I finally finished the elite 4 and the credits, it deleted my save file because it's corrupted. When I started up the game prior to this incident, it did give me what was basically the Japanese equivalent of the "The save data is corrupted, so the previous save will be used." message. It let me save, and as far as I know clock based events were also occurring, so I thought there were no problems. I can't seem to find a solution to this. I can't dump my own cart as I don't have a Japanese cart to work with, I can only find one .cia of the Japanese version. I don't know if there's an obvious solution to this that I'm just not seeing, but if anyone could help point me in the right direction that would be a big help.

It sounds like a Cia made with the old method of GBA VC Injectors that included patching stuff.
The simplest and most effective solution would be to make your own GBA VC cia, By acquiring a Japanese Emerald rom( not going to say how), Using Asdolo's NSUI which includes proper save implementation, and will allow you to play the game properly.
Thank you so much for the reply, I will try this out. I have a save file backup from that game, if I were to inject that into the new rom that I make, would everything work correctly? Or would the save be messed up because it came from a messed up game? Basically do I have to start over? Thanks again for the help.
