Did a little research, and after some work, got most things set up to run with Kit-kat and Snickerstream. While I initially had trouble before, that was easily fixed after disabling my firewall. Well now that the firewall is disabled, I would like to play it, but I still can't stream anything. I am running NTR 3.6, have checked the IP address, made sure that Luma was up-to-date, and made sure that both the 3ds and my computer were using a wireless form of communication to the router. So far the basic checks are already done, and I'm out of ideas of what to do next.

Also, unrelated to this, but when I did get Kit-kat and Snickerstream to work, the lag was something awful, and I was wondering if anyone know of any way to fix this if/when I get the streaming to work again?

It probably is your modem, I'd check if there are any settings that block the 3DS signal, also, to help the FPS, it works far better if the 3DS is near the modem, or getting a better modem altogether.

It's probably not my router. I am hardwired into it now, and the 3DS is connecting to the same router, and even after rechecking the IP address, still no luck. Also the router's firewall settings are turned off, as are the firewalls on the computer, so that can't be it either.

you say you turned off the firewall in the modem/router... that might mean you turned off NAT and both devices are getting public IP's. so they´re not on network together.
what IP's do you see? are they both 192.168.0.xxx?

Their on the same network, because the IP for both computer and 3ds starts with 192.168.254.xxx The IP for my gateway router is a little different, so instead of 192.168.0.1 like normal it is instead 192.168.254.254 No idea why it's just that's how it's been for the last several years. Also, not sure if it helps, but my 3ds firmware is 11.6 on the emunand side of things (11.0 on the actual console firmware), and yes, I made a backup of the firmware before updating if I need to downgrade.

only other thing I can think of, is your PC set to private network for the internet connection? if it is public other firewall rules than normal apply and that might block it.

Well I finally managed to get it to work. I'm not sure how, but I think it defaulted back to the old IP address on the program, or maybe I made the changes to one program and not the other, so I adjusted that, and it finally worked. This is odd because I'm sure I changed the IP address last night, and it still wouldn't work...no idea what changed other than maybe a restart somehow fixing it somehow. Right now the only other issue I have left is the streaming quality, which yes, is blurry like nothing else. I set it for best quality, but that didn't help, and no, I can't tell that much difference between best quality and best framerate...both look equally horrible graphics wise. Is this something on my end, or is this common to all users?

It may help to lower the size of the screen you are recording, the 3DS has a 240p resolution, anything too big will just look like a grainy, jumbly mess, no way around that other than using citra (I think)
