Shining Resonance Refrain releases Summer 2018

Liberate the soul of the dragon within you this Summer in Shining Resonance Refrain! Coming to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PC for Steam, Shining Resonance Refrain will tell the tale of sword-wielding Yuma and his friends as they fight the Empire. This marks the return of the Shining series to the West for the first time in a decade.

Remastered with New Refrain Mode
Shining Resonance Refrain remasters the original Shining Resonance, previously released on PlayStation 3 only in Japan, and features dual audio with English and Japanese voices. In addition to all of the original's DLC, now included as part of the base "Original Mode," Shining Resonance Refrain packs a new "Refrain Mode," unlocking the Imperial Princess Excella and Dragonslayer Jinas as party members for a new experience - just be sure to save this for your second playthrough to avoid any spoilers!
With real-time action combat, it will be important to utilize each party member's unique abilities and strengths while deepening relationships with each character. Through events and dates, get to know your party members to unlock their full potential on the battlefield! Depending on the bonds of the characters, "Resonance" may occur between them, providing a new level of support, leading to victory.

Master the B.A.N.D. System
Dragoneers wield Armonics, ancient weapon-instruments, in order to perform mystical and powerful Rune Songs. Once you build enough BPM (Battle Performance Mana), your party will be able to perform a session through the B.A.N.D. system. Depending on which song you play and which character you set at the center, your party will be able to indulge in various beneficial effects. Certain characters may even perform the song in a special costume!

Draconic Launch Edition
Those who purchase the launch edition of Shining Resonance Refrain on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, will receive the game in a collectible metal slipcase, featuring character artwork of Excella, Sonia, and Kirika.

Well, this game will probably support 1080p 60fps for ps4/x1/pc, and as usual
It will ran only 30fps on switch, ofc this just rumours, Sega still haven't released any info about it.

this game is single only adventure action rpg game, despite lacking of a multiplayer mode, this game features many kawaii grills, full of hot highheels, short skirts and great fan- bOObs - service:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Possibly, though there are a lot of ways to optimize the battles when they run in their own isolated space. I think it'd be more than possible for the battles to run at 60fps, with everything in the overworld running at 30. Previous games have made use of this technique, so if the team has the forethought and opportunity to implement it, the Switch version may very well see 60fps battles.

EDIT: Nevermind, looks like I misunderstood things. The battles take place in the overworld itself, though when you encounter enemies, several objects are unloaded and your battle space is restricted. With that being the case, I think the 60/30fps battle/overworld split is much less likely, which is unfortunate.

The important question is: is this game good? Since I am fan of the "Tales of" saga, I am pretty interested on it as I was when I heard about it in the PS3 release back then

From the gameplay video I'm watching, I'm seeing active dodges, blocks, major attack cut-ins, combos; all things that remind me of Tales. I find it a bit doubtful that the game could live up to the pedigree and polish that the Tales franchise has accrued over the decades, but from what I can tell, the game looks fairly promising in its own right. At the very least, the fact that it's getting a remaster must mean that it was a relatively well received game at the time it was released.

I dunno if i can care enough about this anymore. Not since is not what I'm used to, turn based tactical rpg like the genesis games once was, with the original developers now making mario sports titles for nintendo. Why we can't get another shining force game? Just Cooperate with nintendo, sega!

Just wanted to point out to those new to new to the "Shining" is that it predates "Tales", and has gone through several rpg style iterations over the years, dungeon crawler, tactical turn based, action rpg, and even arcade style online mmo, but is best known for defining tactic style rpgs in the 90's on sega, sega cd, and saturn, with the Shining Force series, which are still highly recommend as some of the best games available on those platforms.

I can't really comment on there later action rpg style games, as the combat systems, and story arcs change significantly through each title, but what little I played of the ps2 titles showed some promise, and Sega's has a ton of experience with this particular genre and franchise.

Interesting, I think its cool that the series is stil... continuing in some fashion. I have only ever played Shining Force Legacy of Great Intention and just a little bit of Shining Force 2.

Yeah I think most would agree that the series was at its best in the form of a tactics style rpg, and would prefer to see the title return to those roots, the franchise has definitely gone through a identity crisis over the years which hasn't done the name justice.

Now it seems to muddled and has no real identity other than retaining the word "shining" in its name. Even the GBA remake of Legacy seemed to suffer a lot from identity crisis too. Were there a few Shining games on the PS2 or am I losing my mind?
