My Wii u was accidentally powered off while launching CBHC, It still powers on but buts the gamepad no longer works, including touchscreen functions(tv remote, etc), and the system menus no longer work.
I did not create any backups beforehand but I was wondering if there was any way to fix it as the system still functional.

If press home button on reg Wii mote does it bring menu up

I’ve heard only works on gamepad
But when I start Wii U I can press home on Wii mote and it launches cbhc menu

And u already had cbhc installed and you were just starting it to play?
Or turn off while installing it?

Pressing the Wii-motes home button does bring up the menu, I already had it installed and was starting it to play

I’m alittle confused. Is it ur Wii U system ur having problems with or just gamepad

Topic title makes it seem system but stuff ur talking bout in topic seems just gamepad
I found this stuff on Ifix it site
Device interferences
Make sure that there are no other powered devices that can cause interference with your GamePad syncing.Try moving wireless devices, such as cell phones or tablets, three to four feet away from the Wii U console and GamePad while syncing.

GamePad needs to be reset
Unplug the power cord from the console and leave it alone for 30 seconds. Then, press and hold the Wii U GamePad power button until the GamePad powers off. Wait for 15 seconds before powering back on the Wii U GamePad and plugging the console back in

Wii U Gamepad Power or Charge Issues
Gamepad will not turn on, or gamepad will briefly turn on, then immediately shut down. (Red LED or no light)

AC Adapter needs to be reset
Power issues can sometimes be caused by an AC adapter that needs to be reset. Unplug the adapter from both the console and the wall outlet. Wait 90 seconds - it will take at least this long for the adapter to fully reset. Plug the AC adapter back into the Wii U GamePad and wall outlet.

Gamepad not turning on can happen too if it have a faulty wireless module (2878D-MICA2). You can test it easily using a charger.

If it blinks an orange led when charging = dead battery. If an orange led keeps on even when you disconnect the charger = faulty wireless module.

The system partially works, but some functions no longer work. For example if a menu pops up on the screen the system will become unusable(Like in a Virtual Console game it displays a message "Suspend point loaded; returning to the game" and it will become impossible to get past it) The gamepad had no issues before, but it now is having issues even when the Wii U is turned off(tv remote function) All tutorials used to fix a Wii U gamepad that has stopped working from normal use don't seem to work.

Have u tried cleaning touchscreen up in the edges. I seen a vid with a guy had issues and used a toothbrush and kinda brushed sideways on the edges of screen to get under the rim around the screen. My touch screen goes wacky sometimes like the top left corner is being pressed. It ether scrolls homescreen all the way to the right and if I press L button or left it fights to keep going back right. It also goes to the mii screen like if press the X button. So something gotta be touching touch screen right where the switch screen is on touch panel. When playing Mario kart it will do that then I all of a sudden can’t see track and my driver, very annoying. I’m guessing I might have to try cleaning under my edges. Sometimes just rubbing my shirt over that corner of touchscreen is enough.
Point is which I’m not really sure is touchscreen can only have one contact spot at a time so if it’s being pressed by something lodged in the seam then would make it so when touch the screen elsewhere it won’t respond because has the consistent press on it.
I was just thinking it wouldn’t make ur system act wonky with that message but doesn’t that screen come up normally if in VC game and touchscreen is pressed

If had a friend or knew someone nearby it be nice to swap gamepads to see if theirs would make ur system run norm and if urs would work on their system just to kinda say the gamepad is def the cause or not
Also what u could do is swap batteries and see if that could even be issue. That way u can approach fix most cost efficient way

Also, if you're using CBHC why don't you have a nand backup?
I don't have a NAND backup, but then I know exactly what I'm doing. I'd rather not lug around a massive 32 GB backup when I can't restore it myself anyways without paying a fortune to get it hard modded. I'd take the risks, even though there aren't many. I find CBHC to be the most easy install and forget solution. It only has four rules, all of which I'd never do even without CBHC so none apply to me. And with parental controls, guests can't do anything rash either. I truly understand the risks.
I don't think it's absolutely necessary for a backup if the user doesn't have a big enough SD card or is willing enough to spend so much to get it fixed. Bottom line is both the 3DS and the Wiiu are really difficult to ever brick, especially for a long time user. If you brick on wiiu, you always deserve it since it's not an accident but rather a lack of understanding and should have read more info. Outside of CBHC, no chance to brick and don't mention Ftpiiu Everywhere being a threatening tool. That would be like deleting system32 on Windows type of stupidity. This is all just my opinion on how I feel about CBHC and Wiiu NAND backups. Sorry for the rant.

Also it's possible to fix a situation where the gamepad is desynced if you use the sync button to boot up cbhc's menu on startup then boot up an app that sends you to the home menu where you can then fix any syncing issues. Brick by a lack of a gamepad sync would be an awful idea but that can never be the case since there's a way out of it.

Two small files to backup and save to your pc. Seeprom and otp.bin. it's just an insurance policy and takes no time at all but you can't ever get them if somehow you brick. Why not take 10 min and just grab those two files?

seems to me the gamepad is diying and has nothing to do with cbhc or anything in the nand, i bet if he buys another gamepad and syncs it it will work normaly again.

Ah okay in that case, that would be extremely simple. I at least have those files, but what can a user do to unbrick by using those files? Is it specifically useful for unbricking CBHC? I assumed that you always need that 32 GB (black wiiu) MLC backup. But hmm in the case of a CBHC brick its more of a boot loop issue rather than a corrupted NAND.
