Burnout Paradise Remastered Announced

Today EA have revealed that Burnout Paradise Remastered is releasing next month:

"In 2008, the original Burnout Paradise came roaring off the starting line ready to demolish the competition. Featuring breakneck racing, high-flying stunts, and — most importantly — shameless amounts of automotive destruction, Burnout Paradise set the bar for what an action racing game could be. And now, ten years later, it's back and ready to show a new generation of consoles the true definition of a “smash hit.”

Relive the high-octane stunts and wanton destruction of one of the greatest arcade-driving games ever. Featuring a range of technical enhancements for greater visual fidelity and authenticity, it plays natively in 1080p on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and in 4K at 60fps on the PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X."

Burnout Paradise Remastered releases March 16th 2018.

I played the crap outta this game. The only thing I had left to do was 1 stupid speed run that involved the highway I could never complete.

i have no idea how you would live 10 years ago then.. or even worse 20 years ago lol

srs in 2 years people will be complaining the game is old becuase is only 4k instead of 8k and doesnt have 1000 fps lol
Nah. 4k144hz isn't even a thing yet. (EDIT: It is technically a thing but not for consumers.) For gamers hz rate is better than resolution. 240hz is probably the furthest I can see it going and 4k is more than enough resolution-wise unless you have a very big screen. You also seem to be taking me calling 60FPS bad out of context. I'm not whining like it's the worst thing in the world. I'm saying if there's a game released in 2018 on PC and it's locked to 60fps there's a major problem.
I'm trying to say I could cares less about 120FPs or 60FPS or 30FPS and I think it's funny that you care so much and think 60FPS is bad somehow.

I play games everyday for hours my whole life and I couldn't care less.

This new generation cares more for the tech behind the game then the game itself.
Depends on the game. I'm a giant Counter-Strike player. So purely competitive, same 5 or so maps, it makes a difference. You're also taking me saying 60FPS is bad out of context. For a game in 2018 being released on PC and being locked to 60FPS, that's bad. That should not happen. 60FPS itself isn't bad, just not something I'd wanna play at when I have a insanely expensive gaming setup built around getting good FPS on 1440p144hz.
30 playable 60 smooth on the eyes while a 120fps ive never seen before.
Go to a friends house that has a 120/144hz monitor and check it out. It's amazing to watch for the first time. Like, rapidly moving around the mouse on the Windows desktop is even improved and you can tell lol.

I loved this game as a child. Glad to see that it's getting remastered. Sucks that they are not talking about a PC release. Never mind, the description on their YouTube video says that a PC Version is coming soon.

I just hope that EA doesn't ruin the game with tons of microtransactions.

wouldve been a great fit for switch, there arent that many racing games on there yet, especially "realistic" ones

Nintendo management seems happy with digital triggers versus analogue, and being 'different' and underpowered compared to their competitors, so I don't see the lack of decent choice in semi-realistic or realistic racing games changing from the Wii and Wii U eras.

Don't get me wrong, Burnout Paradise is a great game... But it's also 10 years old! It has been such a long time since then that they REALLY should be making a sequel. I can understand a remaster IF it is paired with a sequel, to attract attention to the series for a new audience on modern consoles... But as of yet there is no announcement of such a sequel.

I also don't think a remastered racing game really has much to offer. I guess it should still sell, given that it's a great game and obviously it's coming to consoles which it was previously not on. I just feel like it's high time for some new Burnout content.

The original game already runs on most anything, and the switch's iGPU is about as good as a RX 550, so why not on the switch? It wouldn't be at 4k, but 1080p 60FPS with graphics on par with the original PS3 release is a damn good second place.

Also, loving all the butt hurt that it's not *Insert favorite Burnout here*. as a series veteran that's been playing EVERY game since the 2nd on Gamecube (Yes, THAT ugly failure, I enjoyed it, at the time. ) Paradise is the culmination of nearly all the best parts of all the previous Burnout games packed into a expertly crafted open world sandbox. Yeah, crash mode has been reduced to a half-assed mini game but that's more or less been just a side-show from word go. You have to remember, this is a game from before EAing was first used as a verb, Considering how poorly people reacted to SWBF2 I doubt they'll be so eager to add micro transactions beyond the "Timesaver Pack" the original game had as well, and if they do, well, The original release and Vanity Modpack aren't going anywhere anytime soon, still pays royalties to Criterion developers, and at a glance looks just as good as the trailer for the remaster even if you're using even a paltry GTX 1030.

I'm not doubting it could run, I'm just mocking most dev's responses when it comes to Switch ports.

OH! Yeah, sorry. hard to catch sarcasm in un-flagged written text. it's funny they say things like that, and yet something like Doom 2016 runs well and looks fine. If they can't get their engine to run on the Switch, they screwed something up long ago.

Already got this on my PC. Actually had it before PS4 and X1 were released, and it runs at 60 frames + which I'm not sure will be the case for these consoles.

Good luck selling remasters anyway.

Nah not really, I hope you fail miserably.

@Psionic Roshambo AI assisted game creation is kinda already here, there was recently that AI that can turn any 2D image into a fully modeled 3D object, it's not perfect, but it's a starting point, beats starting from zero

but most recently, there was one that actually generates a working unity scene with terrain and textures already set up that you can import right into unity, that's a huge time saver right there
