This is not a game, it's a guitar simulator. Probably the best one I've ever seen.

Having said that it's amusing for about 10 minutes and then you just want to play a real guitar. For everyone whining about not having enough songs, it's not about that. Go look up some tab on the internet. Bam, free songs. Play the chords using your little stylus and buttons or whatever.

Or you can be a real man and just buy a guitar. Bonus, you get laid. Playing "Wonderwall" on your DS to your girlfriend will probably get you a look of disgust.

Summary, if you like this but want more, buy a cheap acoustic and mess with it. It will change your life.

Hey, I can actually play "Communication Breakdown" with this game. I'll definitely look more into it but the amp settings look really complicated and I don't know much about guitars and notes in general[or guitar effects in this case]

Hey DigitalSilence I'm in the same boat as you.

Jam Session isn't bad. I guess if you can't fork over $500 (guessing) for an actual guitar, this will do minus playing single notes. lol

So I'm completely new to guitar, I've learnt how to play on Jam Sessions pretty well but have never read tabs in my life, how do I go about reading tabs/playing on the DS?

I think is a nice addition to the DS game list (not another guitar hero kind of game), but for people not interested in real guitars it doesn't offer any kind of entertainment (at least you can sing along with the demo tracks).
I found the game a boring for the same reason that i was expecting a guitar hero kind of game, but that doesn't makes this "game" suck. The option to record your own songs is nice and the ear training can be helpful if you want to learn to play guitar, but like i said, it's target is people that like playing guitars, not the casual gamer. I think more people would have given the game a chance if a little more arcade gameplay was added.

It's fun, but it's very uncomfortable to play and there's no bouncing ball or anything to show you when to strum, it's up to you to guess essentially. Also, strumming with no note is damn hard, especially when it's on a faster song. The tutorials are trash and teach nothing. The game really needs something to indicate when to strum as the metronome is useless.

This either needs some hardware adapter or a DS redesign to play because after about 2 lines my hands are about ready to give up. It's too hard to hold and find the damn notes on the D-Pad. Maybe I'll go buy some plastic and rig up a fake 4 button guitar hero thing that pushes the buttons down as you press the buttons. The DS is far too hard for this type of game, it's just not enjoyable.

Wow I really liked this, not much of a game but if you have just an ounce of rhythm it’s
very easy. I just wish you could change the L-Button to a whammy when using the effects.

You probably won't be able to use real tabs in conjunction with this (at least not too well), but tab sites usually have lots of chord 'tabs' (depends on the song) which should suit this game nicely
