Do I need to Encrypt roms to be able to play them on the 3DS, landing on a bunch of decrypted games, will there be an issue or will these Citra-ready roms work on the 3DS?

If you want to play games on your 3DS it is easier to use freeShop

Yes I know but these are outer-region games. I thought freeshop was only for console's region games?

You can install any region games using freeShop.

I'm at my wits end with the Ultra Sun Battle Tree. I have PKSM installed and I'm prepared to move on from using tools to remove tedium and do things I could do legally to flat out cheating. Is there any way I can use it to, like, code in Godzilla and just have him tear through 50 battles for me?
Seriously though, what happens if I give a mon an illegal move, and can I give them illegal stats to make them unbeatable? I only want to use them for offline purposes. I'm happy to release such frankenmons once I'm done with them.

I'm not sure if PKSM can do it, but PKHex probably can (you need to backup the game save with JKSM or Checkpoint and copy to PC, edit with PKHex and restore the edited one)
Get a pure electric Pokemon and give it the ability Wonder Guard which makes it only take damage from super effective moves (ground) and air balloons as hold item which makes it not take damage from ground moves. You've now got an almost unbeatable Pokemon.

I dont know where I screwed up, but now all my games and apps (excluding system apps and including FBI and all that stuff) are gone even though I have the data on my SD. I managed to access Fbi through the download play app and rosalina, but what do I do from here ?

I backed up my SD, and formatted my SD card with the emunand option using gm9. Then i ejected my SD card, and put all the data back on it. I just wanted to see what was going on before region changing my emuNAND, so i pressed START and it brang me to my emuNAND (I activated the option on the Luma menu) and there wre no apps. I then went into the luma menu again and disabled the boot into emunand option so I pressed start and I loaded into my sysNAND and there were no apps there as well.

Hello guys, kinda new to 3ds hacking n stuff. I just recently bought a n2ds xl, turns out it's the LL/Japanese version and it came with US firmware. Since I was planning to play Pokemon series, I changed the firmware to JPN as I was afraid to get ban using it for trading pokemon. So my question is, is it save to use US firmware on LL version and go online with it? Or should I keep it on JPN firmware? Thank you.

I tried to update Lumia3DS to the 9.0 version this resulted in Homebrew Launcher disappearing from my Download Play app. How do i get it back?

Edit: I might have found a solution but I haven't tried it out yet. Do you think it would be possible to run Godmode9 and just install homebrew Launcher from scratch like in the guide?

Hi guys. Hoping someone can help me or at least break the news to me straight that I've managed to brick my device! (hopefully not but you can't change the past, c'est la vie)

I hadn't used my A9LH 3DS in about a year so I decided to dust it off, update everything and get some more enjoyment out of it. I read a tutorial quicker than I should saying that I should update Luma. I checked and my Luma version was 5.2, so I downloaded and installed StarUpdater, clicked to install the latest version, it said there was an error, and now it won't boot up. Am I screwed? If not, can anybody point me in the direction of an appropriate tutorial to get things back on track? Thanks in advance.

Just wanted to say thank you Uumas, that guide was perfect and now my 3DS boots up which has made me a happy man.

The only problem I have now is when I try to load SafeB9SInstaller. Holding start and powering on boots the 3ds up as normal, is there any chance this is alternately mapped? so I should be pressing something other than start?

Just use Rosalina to set it again. Instructions are in https://3ds.guide/finalizing-setup

Do you have SafeB9SInstaller.bin in luma/payloads?

I followed the guide, ran through it again to check I'd done it right and yet the .bin file was missing when I looked. Thank you for your expertise and help, that's me sorted.

Kitty, do you know which the best/easiest GameBoy emulator works for 3DS CFW? I don't want to inject. Do the GBA emulators work at full speed? Honestly, I probably only want to play Super Mario Land 2 DX (rom hack), but I might wanna do GBA as well now that my DSTwo is dead. Thanks kitty!!!!

I tried to do this but it seems that I get the DSP Dump message before my device gets the chance to load the Homebrew Launcher.

Redownload boot.3dsx from the guide and replace the one you have.

I don't know anything about emulators sorry!! I've always used injects.
