So I have some emulators and roms on my PC and wanted to see if they'd work with Xbox One? Like if I wanted to copy them to my thumb drive and try and use it.

Anyone ever try this?

There's hope for a Xenosaga port.

The Xbox One will not run a Windows EXE file / application from your thumb drive, is that is what you mean.
There are emulators for Xbox One, recompiled as UWP applications with an Xbox One target.
Somewhere around this site there are some tutorials on how to install them/ compile them.
AFAIK you need to pay a one time development fee to Microsoft in order to be able to load those UWP apps.

I guess? whats wrong with an official port? You'd get all the benefits that come with it.
#Playlists
#Netplay (potentially)
#Themes
#Overlays
#Shaders
none of that reallymatters to me and we have themes for retrix just theyre complex to make

That's fair enough, but for me, coming from the WiiU side where they just finished adding Overlays and Shaders and use the XMB Theme it really does make a difference :)
It nice to have it all organised and tidy :P

I like the retrix theme but I am interested in getting new cores like the dolphin retroarch core and net play

Dolphin would be great, but i'd be more happy with a decent PS1 or a DC Core first :P I can get my GC fix on WiiU for now ;) As for Netplay I think it should be possible as long as UWP doesn't have some weird restrictions, it runs (almost) perfectly on WiiU so the Xbox One should be more than capable. :)

How much power we have on dev mode now. I remember they limited the cores but wasn’t there an update?
IIRC they did release the update that bumped up the resource limit but it didn't actually have any effect on the Emulators speed?
But I don't think PPSSPP has had a new build released since then (does PPSSPP need a new build to take advantage of the resource limit bump)? not sure?

I'm not a fan of Retroarch on Wii U. It works fine. I just don't like that the XMB doesn't animate. I also had crashing issues. No warning or anything, just crash back to the Wii U home menu. So, I've used TeconMoon's injector to make forwarders for the vWii emulators. It works pretty much as expected. Added bonus: FCEUGX, Gen-Plus GX, WiiSX, and NOT64 can all use the gamepad as a controller. I wish FIX would update SNES9xGX.

With the latest build the animated backgrounds and Overlays are in ;) but your right about the crashes, they can be annoying but in the newer builds they are less frequent :)

Hmm. I thought I had the latest build. Maybe not. I also had issues downloading boxart through RA. I ended up grabbing them on my PC and put them in the proper folder on my SD card, however it still had issues loading the XMB menu with box art. It would load, lag, load, lag, crash to menu. I eventually just gave up and looked into vWii forwarders and haven't looked back.

To be frank, I only ever got to play one game with Retroarch on my Wii U: Super Mario World. And only for like 15 minutes before it crashed. However I love Lakka on my Pi3. Also, Retrix is pretty badass and its based on RA. Likewise, RA on my Wii is pretty freakin awesome too. I don't hate Retroarch, I just don't think its quite ready for the Wii U yet.

For the most part the WiiU version is right up there with the big boys now.. but there are problems, like you said downloading Boxarts and Content Scanning is still abit flaky the same with Netplay (I don't use Boxarts myself so I haven't experienced lag with them)
Even so I think you should give it another go. You should try getting Playlists set up it makes the whole thing easier. :)

I'm not sure if you've seen it yet but since you use the vWii version of Retroarch you may find it interesting.. Its now possible to play the larger Neo Geo Roms that were too large to play before. ;)

I hadn't seen that! Thanks! I do use RA on my Wii, not my vWii. I genuinely dont ever boot vWii other than from forwarders on my Wii U menu. (Nintendont, Wii injects, emulators.)
