I still have the rxTools I set up in 2015, is it worth changing? Can I carry over my emuNAND saves? Can someone tell me what happened over the years?

it is worth changing 100% and i am sure u can inject your emunand to your sysnand

I see A9LH has become obsolete as well by now, I do have something to consider. I injected a friendcodeseed (or how that was called) from a friend to the emuNAND. I should clearly backup that before merging sysNAND and emuNAND?

It shows a A9LH to b9s but nothing else on the site, by the way I have some GBA cias installed to sysNAND, won't cause malfunctioning?

Are you sure you have A9LH? I didn't think rxTools was ever compatible with it. If you're sure you do, follow https://3ds.guide/a9lh-to-b9s (you won't lose anything) and if you have menuhax like I suspect you do, uninstall it by booting into sysNAND and changing the theme, then follow https://3ds.guide from the beginning.

scroll down to "get started", then click your system to navigate from there. it's important you read everything so you don't fuck anything up...
regarding the GBA cias, when you move emunand to sysnand later in the guide, this will delete those, so if you care about the save you might want to look at backing those up before the moving of emunand to sysnand.

No, I don't have A9LH.

Ok then uninstall menuhax and follow https://3ds.guide from the beginning like I said
Have you had any luck with this? The instructions are actually pretty simple:

1) Boot your system without the SD card inside.
2) Once your system is on the SysNand Home Menu screen, pop the SD card back in and change your home menu theme to anything you want besides what it's currently set to already.
3) Start the guide from the Soundhax Page. This is assuming your SysNand is already on 9.0-9.2 firmware.
4) Follow the guide to the very end, but when it prompts you to move your EmuNand to SysNand, make sure that you do it. You don't need to do this, in fact you can continue to keep EmuNand and SysNand separate, but with A9LH/B9S, SysNand can be updated and unbricked, so unless you have a good reason, it doesn't really matter anymore to keep them separate.

While preparing the SD card with the b9s setup can I leave behind all the emuNAND software and related or do I need to format it?

You can keep your emunand as it is.
A9HL and B9 still have support for emunand.
An emunand is just a "virtual 3DS" on your SD Card.

Use 3ds-multinand tool to make a backup of your emunand (just in case).

You should not restore your emunand to sysnand since you already modified the friendcodeseed, this could cause trouble later on.

If you really want to get rid of your emunand, just format the card.

Yes but I have backups of the friendcodeseed.

There is no risk in restoring emuNAND when its updated and the sysnand hasn't been right? I verified the luma and b9s installation.
