This is cool but id like to see some screen shots. Are there screen shots?

Some vanity photos would be great!

Yeah, I wish it was that simple.
The WiiU failed without Hacks potentially hindering it. Think about that for a second.

That's your opinion. I have a Switch and a good gaming rig already. I'd prefer the Switch when it comes to portability, but I won't say no to a good emulator that can render the games at 4K. That might take a good while, but it'll be worth it.
But think about it. Switch realy need 4k resolution to be better console? no because this console not about graphics but about interesting games. If i want more graphics i use my gaming pc or ps4 pro. Remember wii? console was weak than x360 and ps3 but, have interesting controlers and interesting games. Thats is why wii sales better than ps3 and x360. Nintendo consoles not about graphics its about good interesting games. Emulator for my example is good for one reason, you can setup controls as you want. I was have 3ds and wii consoles but.... because is my health i cannot property control it. And when emulators wii and 3ds came out i will happy because finaly i can t play as comfortable. Not for free games but for comfortable play. With switch i have not problem to play and i happy for it. Thats is why i don t wait this emulator because i can normaly play on switch. But as many people as many opinions.

1080 p is good enough 4k isn't as big as a jump as hd was from Sd the difference between 4 k and 1080 p is 1080 p looks pixelaited if you look at it close but your not going to be staring right at the screen. unlike 480 p with the red yellow and white cables 1080 p does not look blurry and terrible. The wii did not even have hdmi so it looked bad on hd tvs.

I have feeling that Switch fall down too quick.

I mean it took 3DS at least 3 year for first hack and 4 years for a working emulator. Wii U spend most of it life time unhackable and only got hacked shortly before Nintendo reveal Switch.

Meanwhile it only took less than a year for Switch too be hacked like a Swiss cheese. I feel a bit unease when everything going too smooth like this.

Don't forget that the Switch already have a pretty decent user base, A lot of emulation pirates are people who dont want to spend money on hardware or games.

Then there is also the hybrid essence of the switch (It's probably the most attractive feature)
you are not very likely to get that on this emulator. (you're probably gonna miss out on handheld)

And then there is also the fact that this emulator will most likely not play any games really well in quite some time.

Oh and even if some people are using this emulator as their only way of playing Switch games, I think that a huge number of these players are players that would not have bought the Switch either way.

Nothing has been done yet except internal testing of the “hacks”. There’s a reason nothing has been released, it’s probably not going as “smooth” as we may think. And if the only way to mod the switch on “any firmware” is a soldered mod chip...then the switch will be ok as 90% of folks won’t be opening their own switches to do that. And if it’s a soft mod (which I doubt) then maybe a bit more people will jump on board. We are in the minority even though it seems like everyone does these CFW and hacks to their consoles, they don’t. Out of all my friends that have the switch and the 3DS maybe one or two of them would hack it on their own but the vast majority wouldn’t hack them if it wasn’t for me. So I think sales will be just fine. Let’s worry about Nintendo sales when this tech is full flight and we are able to run games off a USB drive and have access to the FREeShop. Right now there is just a bunch of talk and a VERY early stage emulator that does nothing for the majority of the folks who are looking to run home brew or bootleg.

It will be long till we will see actual switch games being properly emulated, I hope that since it's a Maxwell gpu we will see a close to native hw acceleration on Nvidia GPUs sooner than later.

Edit: to all the people saying "why doing so? You will need a super powerful pc, just buy a switch!" my answer is: software preservation.
In the future hardware will disappear and software will have the same destiny without dumping it, storing it and a way to run it. Software is no different than a book, it is part of the whole human culture so why do not preserve it? Why excluding future generations to experience it? Even in just 10 years the switch will be old, rarer and pricey and you definitely will want a way to play your nostalgic favourite switch game that you cannot play because you don't have a switch anymore...
As example, Nintendo Virtual Console is indeed an emulation platform and we already know for sure that partially it is based of work by passionate people like citra/yuzu team.

yuzu is a work-in-progress Nintendo Switch emulator. yuzu is an open-source project, licensed under the GPLv2 (or any later version). yuzu has been designed with portability in mind, with builds available for Windows, Linux, and macOS. The project was started in spring of 2017 by bunnei, one of the original authors of the popular Citra 3DS emulator, to experiment with and research the Nintendo Switch. Due to the similarities between Switch and 3DS, yuzu was developed as a fork of Citra. This means that it uses the same project architecture, and both emulators benefit from shared improvements. During the early months of development, work was done in private, and progress was slow. However, as Switch reverse-engineering and homebrew development became popular, work on yuzu began to take off as well.
@bunnei do you mind if I add this quote into the switch noob paradise thread?

Do people want the switch dead this early?

I suggest you to read this

Ha ha ha, this is a joke, right? Name one console that's ever died from piracy or homebrew. Dreamcast? No, because that was Sega screwing up. To believe it would be giving in to anti-piracy sycophancy/brainwashing.

I think it has more to do with third party support.
It was a very convinient excuse for some to jump off, mostly companies who does n't have good standing with Nintendo, for example EA.
