Hacking Snort48+ (or alternative) on vWii SNEEK?

Okay, I'll try to compress my journey to get you up to speed. Bullets should do the trick.

Goal:
play WiiWare/VC games from vWii emuNAND that are not compatible with cIOS (Castlevania Rebirth, Majora's Mask, etc.).
  • Ran into problems using UNEEK beta with multiple USB devices, so skipped that. Moved emuNAND to SD card.
  • Followed @JoostinOnline 's guide on how to compile vWii SNEEK. (Thanks for that! :D)
  • Set it up on my Wii U's SD card. I'm able to reach the home menu and launch games.
Problem: I can't see/launch all the installed channels. (Too many good titles! ^_^) From more searching, I found Snort 48+.
  • Installed Snort48+ to emuNAND, launched to black screen.
  • Facepalmed, used another of @JoostinOnline 's handy contributions to convert the Snort48+ channel to vWii format. (Thanks for that too. :yayu:)
  • Installed vWii format Snort48+ to emuNAND. This time it launched to the GUI! However, it froze before I could select anything and the Wii Remote disconnected.
...So now that you're up to speed, here are my questions:
  • How do I get Snort48+ to run correctly on vWii SNEEK?
  • Does anyone here have a vWii SNEEK setup with working Snort48+?
  • If not, does anyone have a similar setup with an alternative solution for loading titles in emuNAND that overflow the emulated Wii Menu?

maybe snort48 doesn't have wiimote+ support, and doesn't work on vwii? I didn't read any past user report about that issue.

USBLoaderGX should launch, but it has a bug (there's a workaround).
if you launch USBGX while inside neek, you'll have to select "real NAND channel" (not emuNAND), as the console sees all this "emuNAND neek" as being the real chipset memory.
the current problem with this loader is launching real NAND channel still try to use a cIOS, which is not installed to neek (unless you dumped your own NAND after installing d2x cIOS).
I tried to fix that once, but failed :(
I'll try again in a future release.

so, either install d2x in slot249 on neek, or you can try Wiiflow instead.
Wiiflow works fine inside neek, it can detect whether it's launched from NAND, Neek, or Dolphin.

last solution is the hidden menu !
press 1 (or 2, I don't remember) on the wiimote to open either the neek settings, or the channel list menu.
launch the channel from the game list menu.

You were spot on with the Wiimote+ not working with Snort48+ Cyan! I forgot about there being a difference between that and a regular Wiimote. JoostinOnline’s convertor worked flawlessly after all.
I was able to connect a regular old Wiimote and adjust the SNEEK sysmenu from Snort48+. Thanks for all of your recommendations. Problem solved, case closed!

P.S. I greatly appreciate all of the work you guys have done on USB Loader GX. My family and I use it often. It’s a useful, well-polished app. Good luck with the future changes and releases. ^_^

Hm, I used snort48+ on regular wii using motion plus controllers with no issues. Is it WiiU specific issue?

I can confirm after trying again with the wiimote plus that snort48+ works fine... Not sure why it didn’t ever work before this. Oh well! :lol: Thanks @ArgonUK .
Anyways, for anyone’s future reference, sneek works fine on vwii and snort48+ works fine after running it through JoostinOnline’s convertor. If you’re having trouble with remote connection like I initially had, try using an original wiimote.
