Hi there, just thought I'd let you know that the rom you are supporting with this is actually wrong. The same thing happened with the Chibi-Robo! Clean Sweep! translation a while back, and it's from the exact same thing.

This is a common problem with DS dumps for whatever reason. And that's okay, since most people will be using a rom downloaded from the internet anyway.
The most circulated rom is missing 3 sectors of data that all DS and DSi games started having after a certain point in time.

from 0x33c to 0x34f (A DSi Cart Header)
from 0x378 to 0x39f (Misc Reserved Data)
from 0xf80 to 0xfff (RSA Signature)
are all zeros in the bad rom that everyone uses.
The correct Tingle rom dumped from a real cart would have a CRC32 of c7a78a3e instead of 5cf26e2f.

For those dumping the rom from a real cart, you can simply manually zero out the sectors mentioned above and that will produce the rom with the CRC32 of 5cf26e2f that the patch Xdelta requires. I've also attached some Xdeltas for converting the good rom to the bad rom and viceversa if you don't feel like manually doing so.

That probably explains why some people are having issues with the game still being in Japanese after applying the patch.

Thanks for letting us know! I added the patch to the blog that will change the CRC of the "good rom" to the "bad rom" so it will be compatible with v1.0 of the patch. When the next version comes out, I'll make sure to base it off of the good dump.

Just leaving this here for anyone looking to patch and having trouble with xdelta or on win 10 and missing .net framework...

Delta Patcher works perfectly. It's a 2 second job.

Congrats on the release! I'm a big fan of Tingle and I look forward to playing this. ^_^

On a related note -- I am definitely not asking for your team to do this, but I'm wondering about the feasibility of an English patch for Freshly-Picked Tingle. By which I mean taking the English text and graphics data from the European release and making it into a patch for the Japanese game. Possible? Easy? Major headache?

Anyway, a local game shop ordered the game per my request, but a Japanese copy showed up for some reason, and I'd like for it to be usable so they don't take a loss.

I'm having trouble with the TingleTrans program, i cant seem to get it to start up? i have my ROM and i extracted it with dsbuff, copied tingletrans into the dsbuff folder and ran it and nothing happens. am i doing something wrong or what?

You need to name the folder that your unpacked rom is in "NDS_UNPACK", then put TingleTrans in the same folder as that.

It assumes you're using DSLazy (doesn't work past Win7), which automatically names the unpacked rom folder "NDS_UNPACK"
