i have one and even with the drive, it does not stick out past the device.it is really small. like 1.5 inches longNah.. it will stick out from the side, especially with a USB stick inserted, at least with a cable you can tuck everything away.

No I didn't I'm sorry, but I have seen video of it running really well on the snes classic. I believe the glupen mod works better so I would give that a try.Did you happen to test Mario kart 64... This is like one of the main games from N64 I would love you play but can't because of alowdowns and freeze.
I've used it with a regular flash drive and it works like It's supposed to. I don't see why that would be any different.Sooo..has anybody tried the new usb host setup with a micro sd usb reader? That would be the shit..other than investing in a Rasp Pi..
You've tried all the snes cores?I tried all Ids for the english versions of Rudras and Marvelous and not one worked , only way to get them running in Canoe is when someone makes a patch for these games .Sadly they also run pretty crappy in Retroarch on the Mini. I hope someone finds a way to run them on the mini without any problems

N64 emulation, which is the better alternative? As far as I know, there's GLupen64 and Mupen64Plus for RetroArch. Also, has anybody done a compatability list on the SNESC, regarding N64? Thanks.
How much do you save on one save?I have just released an experimental mod for compressing canoe save states. You can get it from github or I have uploaded a version here. It's important to know that while I have tested this (been playing all day) there may be bugs so it is recommended for use by experienced users only. Please only try this mod if you are willing to accept the risks involved and note that I am not responsible for any damages, errors, loss of saves.etc that you may experience. Backup your saves BEFORE testing this mod. If you do find a bug please let me know.
Known issues are stated in the readme but I will repeat them here as some people may not bother to read otherwise:
Mod needs to be reinstalled after every game sync - this is because hakchi's auto-update replaces the script (I stated coding this before the auto-update feature was implemented).
This mod breaks the "My Game Play Demo" feature. I recommend you disable the feature.
Uninstalling this mod does not decompress saves. Ensure you know how to decompress saves manually before testing this mod.
I've used it with a regular flash drive and it works like It's supposed to. I don't see why that would be any different.
It compresses saves from 2mb to around 150kb-350kb from my experience. I have attached a screenshot of my hackhi save state manager before and after. How much do you save on one save?
Great anyway! Is there really no possibility to make it compatible with MyGameplay Demo ?
That would be awesome! Can't wait for a complete/stable version! it will be a huge improvement for the Snes Mini.It compresses saves from 2mb to around 150kb-350kb from my experience. I have attached a screenshot of my hackhi save state manager before and after.
It is possible to make it compatible with the My Gameplay Demo it's just going to take a bit of extra work as that feature uses different input arguments to launch the emulator.
Gavin thanks for your helpful YouTube stream. But even with 720p one can't really make out what you do on the monitor. Cheers.Use Hakchi2 v2.21f (official)
Flash Factory Kernel (afterwards boot the SNES mini and verify on TV all was back to original)
Flash Custom Kernel (afterwards boot the SNES mini and verify on TV that DOWN and SELECT reset the game)
Next I copied 1 Genesis (Outrun) and 1 NES (KungFu) Game using Hakchi2.
Boot the SNES mini, of course they dont work, but were in the menu.
Now we add some modules (_km_retroarch_11_6_17 & _km_genesis_plus_gx_10_28_17)
Boot the SNES mini, both games work fine.
I now removed the 2 games from the SNES mini as I want the internal menu just with the 21 original.
Boot the SNES mini, confirm just 21 original games.
Here, I guess you could add more modules... but there is some compatibility issues from reports.
Once you have the modules installed you want to use in future... you can proceed to "Lock it down for USB"...
Use the "hakchi-gui.exe" tool. (hold reset and power on)
I already have a USB prepared device with 3 SNES games and the OTG adapter.
- dump kernel.img
- unpack kernel.img
- flash kernel
- rebuild kernel.img
- memboot
I now added the 1 Genesis and 1 NES game to the USB folder structure as described in documentation.
I booted the SNES mini without the OTG, making sure the boot screen says knock, knock - Hakchi.
All 21 original games present, and DOWN and SELECT reset (good)
Now power down.
Next plug in the USB and OTG and power on.
knock, knock Boot screen (good)
And then... the 3 SNES, 1 Genesis and 1 NES game in a menu...
Just the Genesis one doesnt work and that is likely to be the exec path is wrong.
Yes for the most part. Will hakchi2 let me just put game genie codes and reset buttons combo features without changing anything else?
