I always do my stuff using PKhex, as it gives me more flexibility. But this looks awesome!
Does the app have auto update functionality? Or do I have to download a newer cia once it gets updated?

He removed auto-update, so you will have to get the .cia.
It's good for modifying on the go, if you play outside your home or otherwise away from your PC.ah cool. thats alrightI mainly use pkhex anyway.

He doesn't support piracy, and the game detection couldn't do that anyway.
For R4 saves you have to use PKHex, as the games cannot be detected by non-R4 programs. PKSM wouldn't know if the game even exists on your R4 let alone where to find the save.

Pkhex is easy once you get the hang of it, though i prefer pksm since its doesn't need to take sd card out of 3ds, i might get Usum in next month...

I apologize in advance for directing attention away from PKSM, but you do know there are FTP apps like FTPD and the really slick 3DShell? You won't ever need to take out the SD card with those, especially on N3DS, since that's a hassle to remove. I will say PKSM and PKHex are the main things for me until PKMN-NTR updates for USUM, a bulk of my editing (80% at least) is through there.
Thing is, PKSM is nice since it only requires internet the very first time you launch it, so if you don't have an available internet connection or card reader, it can really help you out!
When I add Pokemon from the pksm bank file to the save UM, the Pokemon don't get registered in the pokedex. Please tell me how can I fix this
You can wait for the bug to be fixed OR help in the development and fix the bug for us.
Found a bug. I was trying to move all my Pokemon from UM to US. However, a Totem Raticate got stuck. I can't transfer it to US, or even back to UM. It's stuck in the Pksm bank thing. I didn't try with any other Totem Pokemon but I'd assume it'd have the same problem
Literally having the same problem and came to report it. In my case it's a Feebas that I caught legitimately in Sun. I was able to migrate all my sun pokemon to Ultra Sun except that ONE pokemon.
I also wish there was a way to instantly inject your tID and sID from the bottom of the screen into pokemon to make them yours. My Sun pokemon are stuck as my old tID from Sun.
I'd also like to add that whenever I touch the pokemon in the editor, I can no longer use the circle pad to move the cursor around and I have to press B to exit the editor and re-enter it to gain controls again.
I hope this is helpful feedback of v5.0.0 that I've tested.
