@everyone waiting on usum support, why dont yall just get the latest pkhex build since it’s mostly functional w usum already?
For the simple reason that PKSM is better. Doesn't require you to export the save, move it to your computer, edit it hoping it won't get corrupted like PKHeX currently has a small habit of doing, then move it back and import it. It's a hassle. PKSM is simple and has everything you need right away.

If OP needs the game to update the build why doesn't everyone who is crying for usmo support donate money to OP so he can buy the game or even offer instead of just asking and demanding
They can also donate copies of their saves so OP can do some work on later parts of the game without having to risk corrupting his own save(s) during research/testing.

He doesn't even need the game to update for USUM for PKSM.
PkHex has already been updated from several days now thanks to SciresM's research, and he sent the update to PkHex, so all that there is now is to take a peek at PkHex and implement the changes accordingly, there little to no research to be done for it, at least for the extra Pokemon, items and such that were included in USUM

Who is "crying" here? I don't see such things, and trust me I'd pick up on it. I'm actually surprised this topic didn't really take up pages of this thread, instead it basically started at the top of page 62. Am I just not as sensitive as those saying there's "crying" and complaining? Maybe a tad bit of impatience? I got no off-putting vibes in terms of requests on this thread. Now if @EventAssistant was harassed on PM, fine, I can believe that. But within the confines of this thread, I see no crying.

And now it's kind of a moot point with PKHex (I use that more anyways) and the games coming tomorrow, everything's seemingly coming together on all but PKSM, which is fine because then this app could just (for lack of a better term) ride off the coattails and update in due time.

It's odd for me to kind of speak for other people, but I wouldn't do so if I fully believed in something. Anyways, I think it can all be calmly accepted that PKSM will be updated when it can, bringing up the impatience and shit is just beating a dead horse at this point.

To be quite frank, your entire demeanor has changed in the last year since Event Assistant became popular. You used to be a pretty nice guy, and I even helped with a lot of the early wonder card collections as well as text descriptions for the original program because you were nice about telling us we could assist. I might be a little salty you removed the mass injectors and early credits to personally dumped wondercards, you're probably still using but I digress..

I don't know what's happened but you've become a pretentious dick. Yes your program is useful, yes it's popular and yes people are going to continue to use it but that's not a reason to treat your user base the way you do. If you don't have users, you don't have a program unless you want to keep it private and lose support from others reporting bugs. I just don't get why you've got such a big head these days, Aurora doesn't even act holier than thou when her CFW is basically the only one now.

If you want people to help, then ask don't demand it because they are asking you, the developer for update info. You can just as easily ignore the requests, use tact in telling people to be patient or just plain don't visit the temp. Telling people to basically do it themselves when they're asking legitimate questions is pompous as hell, get your head out of your ass dude. Seriously.

Thank you. You'll justify me when you'll get more than 50 PMs during the same week from the same guys asking for the same thing over and over again.

It's as easy as ignoring the PMs and posting a comment here for everyone to see addressing the situation. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ok? I admin popular pages too and you know you don't HAVE to respond to every single repeat question. You can easily ignore them instead of lashing out because you're frustrated. How are you trying to justify unwarranted behavior by using an example that is 100% avoidable? You don't want a text, turn your phone off, it's not rocket science.
You'll see how many stuff changed...

And why can't you ignore them man? You don't HAVE to answer you know. That's not an excuse.

Want people to stop with the annoying PMs? Make an announcement telling what you need exactly and what they can do so they can help rather than telling them to help without explaining what kind of help you need! Many people have no experience when it comes to programming for the 3DS, if any in general, so they don't know what to do. People will pester you less if you take those 5 minutes to write a nice and comprehensive reply explaining what is needed and what is planned, simple! Sure, there are some idiots who will still do it, but it will be considerably less. THIS is literally all you said:

to everyone asking for ETA or where is usum support: why are you not helping in any way to make it happen? There's not justification to your requests.
There are plenty of ways to help which doesn't require coding.

Nothing even remotely close to HOW people can help, you just told them to help without explaining a thing!

See that's what I assumed, something like that should've been stated explicitly so the end-user better understands your situation, but you come out swinging with a baseball bat and you're a less cool version of Walt Kowalski. I had been thinking about dropping PKSM after this and now I have more reason to do so, but I'll still end up using it, but my opinion of you has changed to something less than desirable.

I can agree that being bombarded with the same message on repeat is annoying, I run a pokemon group pushing 30k and people constantly do the same thing. However, I just ignore them and make a general post answering the question vs biting off everyone's head on the wall, because I know it's not anyone's fault in general; that's just how it is when you're popular and people are ignorant. Perhaps I myself could use a little more tact in retrospect but your reply to these people asking a question (that they have NO IDEA how many PM's you've received) was completely out of line, and unwarranted. The thing is, that's how you ALWAYS respond, which is why I said what I said. Checking your post history you always have an attitude when people ask you something specific about your program.... Instead of updating your OP (people don't read Github, get over it) you just get shitty with everyone like they should automatically know.

Honestly, maybe you should just throw in the towel on the project if people WANTING TO USE IT are pissing you off so much. PKHeX will always be better anyway and Kap has a MUCH better attitude when dealing with twice as many users as you. It's not just annoyance, it seems to be your character.

Point is I already did all the job by myself ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ . I just wanted to know how many people would volunteer in the simplest thing to do, at least. Sometimes it's nice to see people proposing help; asking for help makes me sad everytime.

I don't care about the message you get, I care about what I get in proportion to my amount of tolerance, not yours.

I'll just drop here a post I did so long ago, which explains WHY I reply so badly to requests like the 'USUM SUPPORT WHEN': https://www.reddit.com/r/3dshacks/c...breaking_model_applied_to_3dshacking/dgha9hh/

I do PKSM for me. I publish it on the internet because I feel it's something that could be useful to others too, but that doesn't mean I do it for the users. There's no justification to some requests I had, that were implying I had to support it forcedly.

To everyone: Do you dislike me? Your choice, that's fine. You feel like you don't want to use PKSM anymore? That's fine, use alternatives. But the way some of you came here today trying to give me a lesson while I worked hard in the meanwhile to provide the changes that you can see in the picture is ridicolous. I'm human, I may have a little tolerance threshold, but you can live with it too. Please treat me like a human, not like a nonstop coding machine providing free code upon request.

This is without a doubt the most autistic thing that I have seen in a while. You are whining about someone who doesn't want to pirate a game to develop a feature in a tool that was only usable if you pirated a game early. If you want shit done, learn how to fucking program yourself and make a fork, that is why things are OPEN SOURCE.

I personally find PKSM to be extremely handy compared to PKHeX. While PKHeX is the OG program that this draws inspiration from and everything, it is a bit cumbersome to export saves, transfer them to PC, edit them and then transfer them back to the system. Importing saves is also a bit of a hassle (apparently because you have to delete secure values or something and some people don't inherently know how to do that). I applaud all of the work done on PKSM by @EventAssistant and I do encourage any and all further development.

That being said, if you would like help, I am all ears. What I lack in experience with code, I make up for in the graphic design department. I love the new UI that debuted a few versions ago, and would be willing to help if you need stuff done for USUM as far as graphics go. I've got experience duplicating graphic files quite well (see my Taiko translations for some examples) and making things look as-close-to-the-original as possible. Help is always just a message/update away. People love this program and I can pretty much guarantee that more people other than myself would be willing to help you so long as you need the help. While I do believe you were a bit harsh, I understand it. But when asking for help, be open to it and explain what you need.

As far as PMs and constant comments go, that kind of comes with the territory. This is Pokemon we're talking about, and your program is very useful to the average 3DS user. It offers all the bells and whistles of PKHeX and then some, which is something people really love about it. But Pokemon always is and always will be popular as all hell with gamers of all ages. I am sure your PMs reflect that diverse audience quite well.

To everyone else replying to the thread, let's keep it civil. This is a great program made by a great dev. Don't let impatience and anger derail what is otherwise an awesome project.

Frankly I agree with OP. I'm not at all familiar with 3DS Development despite my desire to make at least one app, but I am familiar with development in general.

It's long, it's complicated, even when you're paid for it it's often otherwise thankless, and OP is not getting paid for this.

I'm actually quite proud of him for having so much done, and was prepared to wait for him to beat the game and code on his own time. Hell if he decided he wanted out and provided no USM support I'd understand. I think we've taken way to much space on this thread talking about how he reacts to people.

That said OP, I also agree with the notion that you could have stemmed the flow of annoyers significantly with a simple announcement and slight change to the first post stating you were currently working on USM and that it would be ready when it's ready. A few morons wouldn't read, but most tempers are smart enough to check the first post for new announcements on homebrew.

Silence is ambiguous, and people don't like ambiguity. If you don't put word out first, they're guaranteed to come looking for it. They're annoying, but it's human nature. By choosing to keep silent about a popular program under your control you kind of invited the "Where/When for new PKSM update?" messages.

Christ, the game isn't even out yet. How about you chill and let him update when it releases? You all know the dev is anti-pirate, and would never have updated before release. If you have an issue with that, there's plenty of other tools to use, or fork and do it yourself. Half of the posts in the past week seem to be almost nothing but entitled little kids demanding he update it so they can use it with their pirated copy.

My issue is with how he responded to things, not his timeframe of updating it, he can update whenever he wants.

Point is I already did all the job by myself ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ . I just wanted to know how many people would volunteer in the simplest thing to do, at least. Sometimes it's nice to see people proposing help; asking for help makes me sad everytime.

Then you were just fishing for people that would bite into impatience and trying to get a rise out of you. I find that odd, almost like trolling or teasing. You could've said all that from the beginning, and I would've shut up, instead you string it along up to the point where you finally made that bit of info known. And don't give the "I'm human" excuse. I am too, we all have our own thresholds? Yeah that's obvious. Those excuses are weak, but whatever. It's your program, your pace, go with it, I should stop reading your opinionated posts because it's honestly making me like you less.

Best of luck in your future endeavors.
