it protects you from lasers.
I have an armor (forgot where I found it, maybe north-east of observatory) and a headband (found in the top-right labyrinth).

I added a question in my previous post :

Can we get all 30 hearts ?
I'm missing 4 hearts, and 4 temples, which makes only one heart....
so I'll be short 3 hearts.

You can get all 30 hearts, at the cost of a few out of your stamina wheel. You can either get 28 (or 27, I forgot which) and 3 stamina wheels, or 30 and nearly 3 stamina wheels. Perhaps DLC 2 will let you fill up both to max.

So installed haxchi, seems pretty smooth by itself.
Is there any risks in not installing cbhc? What if I run an unsigned game w dlc or homebrew channel?

All the risks (of which there are not many) are in installing CBHC. Make a NAND backup before installing CBHC. I didn't, but luckily I did not brick.

Can someone please point me to a recent, working guide for setting up RedNAND, that does not require the NAND extractor Windows tool? I've been searching, and there are a lot of conflicting guides, some using Mocha, some talking about IOSHax, some using CFWBooter (which a lot of people told me to use), can someone please show me?

The reason it's hard to find a guide is because those that should be using redNAND don't need a guide. In other words, it's not for the common user. It's for developers who need a sandbox to test their builds. vWii doesn't work and it's prone to corruption. No new users should even consider redNAND

Ahh, I see. What happens if you try to boot vWii? And what kind of corruption? Corruption of SysNand, RedNand, or SLCCMPT?

It won't launch vWii. And since it's an emulated sysnand on SD card when it corrupts you loose your entire redNAND. Any games installed to "system memory" and all saves are gone. You have to constantly backup your redNAND if you want to have any hopes of recovery on an almost certain future corruption

So, all saves for SysNand are gone? And all installed titles for SysNand are gone too?
@Kafluke Also, how do you dump the RedNAND WITHOUT THE WINDOWS TOOL. I'm on Mac, Wine won't work, and it's not powerful enough to run a VM. Is there a mac/java/wii u app that dumps RedNand? Does the Wii U NAND Dumper dump RedNand if in RedNand?

@Kafluke I've seen people using mini-haxchi's to boot to non-hbl, like a haxchi for TCPGecko, or one for the app store–is it possible to do this with stuff downloaded off of JNUS? I heard somewhere you could do it, but installing the JNUS-downloaded title (encrypted obviously) it says it has a bit title.tik or ticket.certs or something. What can I do?

Yes you can create "HaxChi forwarders" to any homebrew elf you want. None of them will work tho unless you're already in CFW mode. So you need to have at least one legit HaxChi first or use mocha if you want

Yes, I know. But the problem is, WUP Instaler GX2 doesn't install the DS titles. Is there a fix?

Ok then. Let's take a step back and reassess. When you boot your Wii u what is the version number of your Wii U? If it says 99.99.99 then you are already in CFW mode. You can then launch HBL and install your NUS downloaded DS game using WUP Installer.

Then you can install HaxChi over the top of that (but before you do so, make sure your HaxChi config file is set up with the default set to launch whatever elf you want)

This is the important part. Don't install HaxChi over the top of your legit DS game that you use for CBHC or your bricked

Well, I'm using the channel version of Wup Installer GX2.

Whenever I boot, I see the unsigned HBL & WUPIGX2 channels, so I must be in CFW, but I'll check anyhow.

Yes, it shows 99.99.99.
It must be some problem with JNUS, since it still says 'Bad or missing title.certs' (or something like that).

Hi, guys I got a super noob question, how do I PM someone? I couldn't find that option, and in the "conversation" page I cannot initialize a conversation, either.
