PSVR is getting Skyrim VR as a timed exclusive while PC VR gets Fallout 4 VR. Both getting DOOM VFR AFAIK.
i was in the MS store last week they had one new PC VR headset and they told me that they were getting in like 4 or 5 more from different manufacturers the next day to put on display
my guess is that they are all pretty much the same, and they already have the HTC vive there
and another VR headset ,the new occulus and and hololens are not even out
i thought the market space was crowded before but now it seems this thing is really starting to blow up

PC VR has Vive and Rift, but it seems Oculus and HTC would rather wait for price drops and the install base to grow before moving on to more high-end HMDs. HTC and Oculus are both releasing standalone HMDs instead right now. The Pimax 8K Kickstarter finishes up tomorrow though, and that's a truly high-end HMD. 1440p input signal, dual 4K panels (2160x1200 total for Rift/Vive), 200 degree FoV (110 for Rift/Vive), and it weighs less and has a better strap. Of course, a GTX 1070 is about minimum for this one.

Had PSVR and all accessories, sold them within a month. The res is just too low as I'm used to my 4k TV now, and games were short and low quality mostly. Not worth the purchase.

I got 2 Switches, 2 PS4 Pro and a PS4 Slim, but I play my Switches more often than my PS4s.

I'd say keep the Switch and have fun with it.

i have tried VR at a friends..

and umm this is just a personal opinion but the VR is only for those who have lots of money to spend.
it is not that revolutionary as some may say..

it is in the end a gimick, it felt like something 3d'ish poppin out in front of you, i would not say it is not cool.

but i would never trade a switch for a vr, just not worth it..

keep your switch.
I will get PSVR once Neptunia VIIR arrives in Europe :D

I will make my decision depending on what the critics and users say when Media Molecule's Dreams VR is released. I'll suck up every little detail about controls response and jank before I decide.

It makes the experience different, but not necessarily worse. Obviously you're going to design a game for 1:1 motion controls differently than you'd design a game for mouse and keyboard. I'll grant you that playing "normal" games doesn't feel great in VR, but within the next year or two we'll have so many games designed specifically for VR that it shouldn't matter. Plus a lot of VR mods for games like Doom 3 and GTAV.

Yeah for sure it's not objectively worse but it's not necessarily dramatically better either, 1:1 motion control games are no doubt the future of VR but there's still not anywhere near enough quality titles to warrant the price of entry.
It's a Wii U or PS Vita style situation, the adoption rate of the hardware has to be enough for the developers to make an investment, last year the Rift and Vive didn't even crack a million units in combined sales.
If we're swimming in incredible VR games by 2019 I'll eat my words but it's been over a year and a half with VR on the market and there's still nothing even close to a killer exclusive like Bloodborne, Halo, Zelda etc.
I can totally get behind it as a tech, it's exciting and cool and fun but I still think it has a serious uphill battle to climb before it becomes a mainstay in peoples homes.

I don't mind if you sold your Switch (well, I do mind a little...), but selling it for PSVR...? I'd rather you just sell the Switch and play more games that are available on the PS4. VR gaming is in its infancy as some have said, just like how the Switch is only 6 months in after being released (although it's already gained much more success than the PSVR). Like with the Switch, you should wait a bit longer and see if VR gaming is something worth to dive into early when there's technically barely anything good for it and not really worth the price it's at. From my experience with using PSVR a while back, I was more disappointed than impressed. I mean, I was a bit impressed, but... It didn't leave me wanting more.

Bought a switch after launch and although I think its a great console with loads of potential I feel it's still not there yet and there is just not enough games that i like yet, I've been looking into VR for PS4 for the last few weeks now and although VR is also not quite there yet I do feel that it's the way for me to go for the next few years, at least until the switch really starts taking off or turns into a VR/ Augmented reality system as a few have speculated.
So what are your guys thoughts?

Also as I have Zelda DLC and a few digital purchases on my switch. Is it possible to delete my Switch account, but leave the DLC/Digital games active for the bR

VR is only good for porn. It's not ready for gaming yet.

I was thinking about that myself and you might be right there, honestly I never really like to trade in stuff anyway but my switch is just sitting there doing nothing.

Also I cant find a vita anywhere below £180 and when i do there in very bad nick, with no "special vita" memory sd's or what ever they are

I see PS Vita's and 3DS's regularly on Facebook Marketplace, literally one Vita on there the other day in the Yorkshire area for £60 :D

There are actually quite a few games I'd submit for the title of killer VR app at this point. Superhot VR, Sairento VR, Rez: Infinite, and House of the Dying Sun. Skyrim VR, Fallout 4 VR, and DOOM(4) VFR are all releasing very soon, not to mention Valve is working on a VR game or two themselves.

As far as I can tell the only title you mentioned that requires VR is Sairento VR, everything else I can play on my PC right now.
I'm talking powerhouse exclusive releases not VR support for currently existing games, why would I drop nearly $1500 on a Vive and PC upgrade when I could just play all of those now on my current PC for like $200?

Superhot VR is a completely different game from Superhot (though the whole format feels like it was made for VR from the beginning). OTOH the great thing about games like Rez: Infinite, House of the Dying Sun, Thumper, and Redout is that you buy them once and get both the VR and standard versions. IMO Rez: Infinite and House of the Dying Sun are better in VR than they are standard, 360 camera control is a big plus in both. The VR versions for all these games are very polished, though, and it's great when developers give you that kind of extra value.

I mean, Starcraft and Dark Souls are completely different games, Superhot VR is closer to an add-on/expansion to Superhot (a very good one to boot).
I'm talking about games you literally can't get anything remotely like being released exclusively for VR, Doom VFR looks like a fun time but at its core it's still Doom.

Well yeah, like a second campaign. DOOM VFR is certainly all levels that you can't play in DOOM as well. Not to mention a different player character and VR-specific mechanics.

Yo, look at the games and see what you'd want to play and the prospects of more games in the future. It's not really something to be asking about.

Sure, why is that worth a $1500 investment?
I can play Doom right now for $20, for $1500 I want a little more than a second Doom campaign.

The VR setup itself isn't $1500. If you add in the cost of the PC, sure, but the PC does a lot more than just play VR games. You also don't need one game to be the end-all be-all for VR, that's not the way it works in normal gaming. "I can play a SNES emulator on my phone right now for free, for $300 I want a little more than Bloodborne." Gaming in general is expensive, unless you stay a full generation or two behind everyone else.

Sorry, should've mentioned that's in AUD. A vive here will set you back around $1100 and if I factor in say a gpu upgrade you can add another $300 - $500.

Very true but it's still a cost that needs to be factored into the overall price like how if you want to buy a PS4 but don't have a TV. Yes you can use the TV for other things but you'll still need to buy one to use your PS4.

Sure I totally agree that's why PS4 has Bloodborne, Uncharted, Killzone, The Last of Us, God of War, Ratchet and Clank, Crash Bandicoot, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Grand Turismo, Yakuza, Persona, Kingdom Hearts, The Last Guardian, Nioh, Until Dawn, inFAMOUS and Tearaway.

For $1100 I want more than a VR expansion to Doom, honestly Bloodborne would be a more convincing selling point at this stage. Gaming is expensive but $1100 is VERY expensive.
