unsigned system titles? like what?
i've just tried it and it worked, then i reinstalled B9S again.

also, what about cleanup_sd_card?
does it format the SD card?
That script just deletes unneeded files. Unsigned system titles could be anything for a custom home menu, or manually edited SecureInfo_A or things like that.

oh, so unbanned console with another friendseed file will brick the system, right?
can i recover from that brick by using NTRboot?

No a donated friendseed wouldn't brick, because it is from another console. If you manually edit it then it wouldn't be fine.

By the way even if your console boots, that doesn't mean it is fine. It just means none of the system titles or files that are used on boot are affected. The could be a system title that isn't used in boot that will cause weird behaviour, for example the keyboard. It's really better not to uninstall CFW.

Uninstall menuhax before beginning the guide or it will interfere each time you start up your console. Change the theme in sysNAND to uninstall.

If you have any unsigned system titles that require CFW to run then yes it will brick your system.

If you delete everything from your SD card you'll lose all your games and saves.
Hi. Yeah I just noticed my save files aren't there anymore. Anyway, I did make a backup of my SD card prior to doing this. Would transferring my old "Nintendo 3DS" folder be good enough, or would I have to do something else to recover my save files?

That should be enough

I was in-game after playing for many days using sleep mode after each session. I push home and it locks up.
Rebooted and home menu wouldn't load, but it eventually did load after about 2 minutes.
I cold booted again and this time it took 5 seconds to boot.
Any idea what's going on?

If your 3DS is modded, home menu taking about 5 seconds to boot is normal.

Yes as long as you never formatted between making the backup and now

Some people ask about how to fix the black screen issue when going into NTR/TWL mode (such as running a game through TWLoader, or even launching a DS/DSi Slot-1 game or DSiWare from the HOME Menu), and I direct them to this troubleshooting guide.
The black screen issue has never happened to me, though.
Now I want to know (if anyone knows the answer to this, lol): How does TWL_FIRM (not TWL NAND, since the guide above works) get corrupted overtime?

I want to extract my Local Friend Code Seed B and replace it with a working public one so mine is safe and to be able to use it for an "emergency".

So how can i extract it? Is there any problem with doing these? Can i just replace it and be ready to go?

EDIT: Go it! Still, is it a good idea? Is there a better way? Would it be a problem? I obviously not gonna do something stupid and get the Public LFCSB banned, but i just want to have a backup plan.

Total noob here! I have 2 systems that I want to put CFW on so that I can install a bunch of backups onto each. I'm hoping that I can do this without needing a Flashcart?

First system - Old 3DS (2.1.0-4E)

Second system - New 2DS XL (11.4.0-37E)

Having looked at 3ds.guide I think I have figured out what I need to do but I just want to check with you guys first. I think that I can install CFW on the first system via the browser. Then I think I need to update the new system to 11.6 so that I can use the first system as the source 3DS (as 11.4 cannot be hacked without hardmod or flashcart).

Am I correct in my assumptions? If so, I have two more questions:

1 - Is 11.6 the current firmware? i.e. do I simply need to connect the New 2DS XL to the internet and navigate to a system update in the settings

2 - If I connect the Old 3DS to the internet to use the browser, how do I avoid it automatically updating the firmware? (I'm not even sure if automatic updates are even a thing btw)

Huge thanks in advance!

It's pretty simple, luckily. I'm actually planning on doing this, can you link me the one you found?
So, boot into GM9. Navigate to whichever NAND you're changing's CTRNAND (1: for SysNand, 4: for EmuNand), then inside navigate to the rw folder, then to Sys, then you'll have the 4 files. Copy the LFCSB to GM9OUT, and store it in a safe place. Take the public one (be careful not to mix them up) and put it where is was. Now, go to your SecureInfo_A (same dir as the LFCSB), open it in the hexeditor, and look at the last 3 lines. You'll see your serial. Change that to something a bit different, but REMEMBER YOUR ORIGINAL! Then you're good! If the public gets banned, change your serial back to it's original form.

Do not worry, if you're on an old firmware, it'll bug you and bug you, but it will not auto update. This is not Wii U.
Yes, you can use DSIWareHax. If you have a hacked 3DS already, I highly recommend it, as it can be done for free. (Single system version is difficult & not free).
Yes, 11.6 is the current firmware. Take a look at the first page of the thread, it may have a few questions answered.

So i need to change that secure info? Why is that? What does it do?

By the way, if the public friend seed gets banned, and i change it for another and that one gets banned too, could they ban my console ID for multi bans, checking that the local seed i have was banned multiple times?

I understand that i cant send local seeds here... but i found it in that chaos site, just look there (last pages)

The local seed IS the console ID. The secure info holds the serial. And you should change the serial number because I think they can ban that too.

So like you said, if the other serial gets banned, but i want to use another local seed, then i should change it again and use it for the new public seed? Just use the original serial with my original friend seed.

Can i use any serial? I mean, you said to change it to something similar, but there is no pattern i should follow so ninti doesnt realize i change it?

Change it to something similar, but not totally different. I believe all console's second letter in the serial is "W" but that's based off seeing two consoles. Just make it simple, change a few numbers.

Thanks! I don't already have a hacked 3DS but I think that if I use 2xrsa to hack the old 3DS first, I can then hack the New 2DS XL using the hacked 3DS and DSiWareHax?

Yup. And, there are free games working with DSIWareHax.

Hey, I was poking around my 3DS EmuNand with GM9, and I found a SecureInfo_C where there's normally a SecureInfo_A. What's up with that? Should I delete it?
