Mine does the same thing. Official R4i B9S Card and the flasher has bricked my card. The irony is, this was sent to my website for reviewing purposes....
I have bricked my R4i B9S Card with official B9S updater, now R4i B9S freeze my 3DS and is unkown with B9S updater !!!
Someone should really make a PSA thread over this issue. Seems to happen to everybody.

Nah, I won't. I got a DSTT for my Flashcarting purposes (at be it, just for DS games), and if I do want games to "Aquire", i'd use Freeshop or CIAngel.
Yeah, same for me I had to do a review of it, but I will not post it until this problem is solved.
I wonder if they are ever going to announce the remaining people or ever just stop reading my emails and reply to them already?

okay, I got my flash cart in and I feel like a big dumb-dumb at the moment: I followed the instructions on 3DS.guide and I'm still stuck on the black screen. do I have to actually flash my cart or does it already come pre-flashed or what am I doing wrong other than buying this?

I'd rather they step aside and let the ntrboot_flasher homebrew team fix their mess. They already have read/write RE'd and working.
Should have ntrboot_flasher compatibility for r4-b9s and r4i-sdhc added fairly soon, hopefully. This would already be fixed by now if r4i team had released the flasher source as they are obligated to do per GPL.

The r4i-sdhc team replied to me just now about the R4i B9S card brick issue.
They apologized that when releasing the flasher they haven’t considered the problem that each R4i B9S card has a different KEY, which led to failure in being recognized by the software.
In addition, for customers who has a R4i B9S card brick, the factory is willing to resend a free new R4i B9S card. So please contact them at email address: [email protected]
Hereby thanks in advance for their initiative to take the responsibility!
