Can someone answer me, if this is a problem that only occurs if you mess with FTP (as the user I quoted had done)? I was going to have folders too (using just Hakchi, no FTP), with no games in root.
I have 30 folder in root all custom image each folder has at least 3 games in total of 110 games on all folder combine no error when turning off.
I prefer this because I know exactly where my games are.

I have four folders with 25 games each in the root. No standalone games. All works fine.
That seems like a good nr to work with, I play it even more safe and use 21 games per folder. Save states (atleast when using Canou) are a problem for now since each save state takes up around 2.2mb, I try to reduce them as much as possible. According to Cluster we might see an option to compress those save states in the future.

Yes, the max. number of games I'll be having per folder is 21 as well, but that's more of a lucky coincidence rather than anything else. I compiled a list of games I'm adding and when I divided them into folders I want (SNES A - D; SNES E - K and so forth), the folder that will hold all the 'S' games is 21 in size. Because of my alphabetically arranged folders, I didn't want games in root because then it would stop being pleasing to the eye :))

I have 79 games in the root and I've had no problems whatsoever
Maybe you will be fine, I am just following the rules that worked for the NES Mini, 30-40 NES Games in a folder, 15-20 SNES games in a folder to avoid C8 errors. Errors might occur when you start to use save files a bit more, altleast that was the case with NES Mini, since they are so alike I keep on following them.

If only something could be done about those save files, I’d hate to use RetroArch just because of those saves.

OK so have about 80 games and getting c8 error. Will want to remove some games and add some games and have a folder. Do you have to go back to stock kernel then reflash hakchi?

To get rid of c8 error you either have a page or folder?

Well a folder leads to a new page, C8 just means that you memory RAM is full. All those pictures and save states have to be loaded up every time you load up the system, a new folder clears the cache so you can have more games. I would first move some stuff around in Hakchi and see if that works before going back to stock.

How to download other modules for retroarch-clover? I've seen videos of people using MAME, Atari Lynx, C64... how?

Just a minor question...
I have seen somewhere that savestates of the SNESC takes up 2 MB, because of the rollback.
If you have 150 games added, you can't save them all....
But what if I use retroarch on them, will the savestates be smaller and also.... I don't know what to change in the command line to have a game boot up in retroarch.

the command line is now: /bin/clover-canoe-shvc-wr -rom /usr/share/games/CLV-U-DCDJE/Aero_the_Acro-Bat_2_(USA).sfrom.7z --volume 100 -rollback-snapshot-period 600

to what do I change it too?

im also not sure about the savestates currently im keep on deleting them, i have only 50mb left, some saves like zelda or som was as you already said up to 2MB and some only 2kb.

I have calculated that 150 games X 2 mb = 300 mb.... SNESC only has 300 MB..... I was hoping not using the rollback feature, would minimize the size of the savestates of the SNESC

a quick question :

if I want to use retroarch only (and not the internal emulator from Nintendo...), can I add under "global command-lines argument " this :
--retroarch in order to use retroarch for ALL my games ?

Is it a good idea to improve the emulation for the games (even specific games , like Starfox 1 and 2 which are using specific co processors) ?

Note : I tried to use --retroarch under "global command-lines argument : the SNES mini will start as usual, but... if launch a game I have a black screen and I go back to the menu of the SNES mini. I can't launch my games any more.... I erase my command line and it's working again....

Note 2 : something is "fishy" with the new version of retroarch-clover from ClusterM (Vrs 0.9).
I can't run anymore Terranigma (Euro + patch NTSC). I have a black screen and I go back to the SNES mini interface. I'm not the only one with this problem (some people can' run Street Fighter Alpha 2 (USA) with retroarch any more too..)
back to V0.8 = runs perfectly well (well at least as before ..).
Houston we have a problem with retroarch-clover 0.9...

Here is the post I was talking about from this's guy's Twitter, anyone could point what these solder point are for?
https://twitter.com/nvsofts/status/917278643763556352
reuploaded the image here for future reference. His post says, for people who wanna add SD/MMC to their SNES Mini

Soldering that is very easy to do but my guess is that even if you have soldered a SD or MMC to it it won't do anything for you (yet).
This extra volume propably needs to be formatted to the correct file system.
Also the system needs to recognize and mount thuis new Volume to have it useable.
This can only be done by software modifications.
Maybe @Cluster can add something in the future.

It would be nice to add a 8GB SD Card to add the whole SNES collection :)
But im not sure if the Soldering of the SD Card is so easy, years ago i did a custom SD card for the Neo Geo X, it was so pain in the Ass.. haha.

Considering the rollback feature and also the big save files it makes sense to have a bit more memory for sure.
But I bet that many ppl will just throw the whole Goodset on the the extra memory even if they won't even play 20% of that games.
But they will complain that several games just won't work even if they do not intend to play them XD
