Hello, my first post here.
I installed CFW on my old3ds and transfered it on my N3dsXl using DSiware Game Injection. I used the SUDOKU game to do so. I'm planning to use the same method on two of my friends 3ds. My question is : if I restored the nand of my old3ds (the source console) can I still use the SUDOKU game on this console to do it again or do I need to buy it again ?
No you have to buy it again. The source console has to legitimately own it for the transfer to a non CFW console to work.

Should I buy a sky3ds+ to allow me to play my backups in both of my 3dses? Yes I know...flashcarts are useless if you have CFW but...with cia installs the game is stuck to the console it is installed in...There's no taking the game and playing it in your other handheld if the first one has no battery left...And no I don't want a gateway because Luma does the CFW better...and I don't use cheats anyway...
In most cases the game save is stored on the SD card, so you could take the Sky3DS out and play on another console but you'd have to start the game again. So there would be little point.

One thing that comes to mind (not sure if this would work) is to system transfer and restore a nand backup on the source. That way you could maybe just take the sd card to the other console.

Yeah that would work. Just make sure not to play both consoles online at once (I originally thought that would get them banned but I think what happens is one just gets an error trying to connect to a game online if the other is already online).

Somebody, please?
I don't know, maybe try asking on one of the ntrboot threads

Button remapping on 3ds?
"A" button is pretty unresponsive, looking into remapping it to "select". I've been trying to use ButtonSwap3DS by mikahjc
With no knowledge of ASM, I've been trying to get the github program that mikahjc working but I'm pretty lost. I followed the guide in the readme but it's obviously a lot less newbie-friendly than any other guide I've used.
I'm burnt out trying to get it working, devkit is completely different to any other program I've used and I've made very little progress.
Is there another way to remap buttons?

Any help appreciated

I'd really appreciate if someone is willing to do that, but I'm going to keep trying either way. Is there any other remapping programs? I thought it would be a pretty popular thing

The easiest way is freeshop. It works on newest luma and there's a guide on the first post of this thread

Hello, I have a few questions about switching my 3DS from GW to CFW since it seems GW is dead and there's no support for the latest emunand.

What I'd like to know is whether this here is the latest CFW out there or is there anything more recent/up to date? (https://hax.b4k.co/3ds/guide?p=/)

Second, I'd like to know whether it's possible to install luma/another CFW and run it on top of what I currently have of Gateway and simply use the regular GW methods to play games as .3ds files if I don't care about using online features for them? OR will I have to replace every .3ds file to .cia in order to play the games regularly?

Lastly, is it advised/necessary to back up all my games/saves before starting any sort of installation process for the cfw? Thanks in advance!

don't use a mirror of the guide (especially one that modifies it). https://3ds.guide is the best one to use.

you could but it's somewhat annoying to do. someone else can answer this better than me.

I'd probably suggest keeping backups in case something does go wrong, never hurts to do so.

Thanks for your reply. I currently have the original SD card that the 3ds came with, but I also bought a new 16gb-sized one. Would it pose any issues if I were to simply switch these cards each time I want to use .3ds with GW and .cia with the CFW ?

Also another question, is it possible to format adapters such as : https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/41het8sx2xL._SY300_.jpg to the required MBR format, or does it only work with a real SD card that doesn't comprise a microsd with adapter?

I am on step 16 in the guide for the old 2ds system. How many times does it usually take the nintendo sound to open the homebrew. My system freezes but restarts it self. a few times the top screen was green but nothing else yet

I am trying the soundhax launcher

one time you have something incorrect (labeled wrong and/or in the wrong place and/or missing) on your sd card . . . go back and make sure you have the files exactly as the guide says
